I have to say that I was mildly miffed when Good Old Games pulled its weird little PR stunt last week, pretending they were dying and then showing up in wizard robes going “Fooled you! We were just coming out of beta! You looked silly, wailing and rending your clothing like that.” But all is forgiven now, for GoG has finally gotten their classic-game-selling paws on that most classic of classic PC RPGs,Planescape: Torment....

This morning Activision unleashed a short vignette and a few still images featuring the snow-slidin’ and ice-throwin’ protagonist. It is no surprise that Iceman can rock villains with a flurry of cold powers, but it’s satisfying to see nonetheless, especially if you’re a fan of what he brought to the table in the originalMUA....
Damned the folks atGame Informerfor starting a silly rumor that we simply don’t want to believe. According to the magazine that broke the news onBatman: Arkham Asylumearlier this year, the game may not meet its target ship date. Right now, retailers and print ads are suggesting a June 23 release, in line with Eidos Interactive and Warner Bros. blanket “summer statement.” According toGame Informer, sources close to the game are saying it’s being shuffled back to the fourth quarter of 2009....
Snowis a game about a girl buying a cup of coffee. Not in a symbolic sense or in a pretentious artgame sense where you have to decipher what the actual mechanics and input buttons mean on a metaphorical level, and then that metaphorical level eventually reveals itself to be about a girl buying a cup of coffee. It’s just a five minute adventure game with no puzzles or inventory management where you go buy a cup of coffee and make some very small, but perhaps very important decisions regarding how she deals with other people....
Those who own the game are in for a treat courtesy of the publisher as well: on December 10th, DLC dubbed “Gigawatt Blades” (called so for an obvious reason) is slated to hit PSN as a free download.ELECTRIFYING.

There’s a newBrothers in Armsgame in the works and it’s not going to be the same sappy, serious story we’re used to. Following on from yesterday’s full trailer, IO Interactive has let some fresh new screens forKane & Lynch 2: Dog Daysslip onto the Internet. Although the selection is small, we get a good idea of what James Seth Lynch and Adam “Kane” Marcus will be getting up to in Shanghai — shooting. Lots of shooting. Interestingly enough, the screens seem to depict the same low-fi visual style as the trailer did, making everything look like it’s been filmed with a bad mobile phone cam....

I’m a huge James Bond fan. I would say I like James Bond as much as I like videogames. Luckily, Bond and gaming have gone hand-in-hand for a while, and while the quality of Bond games is always a roller coaster ride, there is no doubt that one Bond game changed the face of gaming forever.
