Watch Gaijin Games make a WarioWare D.I.Y. microgame

I must say, coveringWarioWare D.I.Y.has been nothing but delightful — and I haven’t even gotten around to picking up a copy of the game yet. “Fire Bad!” by Alex Neuse of Gaijin Games is the latest of the developer-created microgames to hit the download scene. It looks an awful lot like a scaled down version ofBit.Trip Runner, which is obviously awesome. You presumably A) have eyes and B) could have gathered that yourself, so I’m not exactly sure why I am bothering to explain this....

This is a new promotional trailer for the Wii that comes straight from the Electronic Games Show in Mexico and it makes a pretty good impression about the Wii and its games. The trailer starts with some crappy looking minigames, but the quality grows on you as the video moves along.[ViaGoNintendo]

WiiRoomba: the geekiest way to clean your floor

This guydecided that having a vaccum creature crawling around his house of it’s own volition was a little too unnerving, so he added manual control; that is, he hacked the thing into accepting commands from his Wiimote. After brewing a dark concoction of perl scripting and bluetooth voodoo, he now has a Roomba sans it’s most compelling feature: autonomity. The ingenuity behind this little project is only matched by the sheer vagina-eschewing nerdery of hacking a game controller to control a cleaning robot....

In todays episode of the1UP Show at gamevideos.com, some of the masterminds behind World of Warcraft spill the beans on their Guitar Hero and Viva Pinata experiences, what it’s like playing World of Warcraft anonymously and being treated by n00bs by raid guilds, Onyxia’s Deep Breath, and the games that inspired them to create the most successful MMORPG ever made. Forgive the random advertisment in the middle of the show, but luckily it’s for yet anotherkick-ass NCSoft gameso no worries....

WTF: Datel’s Xbox 360 looks like it has a Dreamcast VMU

What the hell is going on with this controller? The Turbo Fire Evo is a wireless controller is not your standard third-party offering. The big difference: you’re able to’t miss the screen popping right out of the center of the controller. It sort of looks like an updated Dreamcast VMU screen! That screen is actually the Evo’s Combat Command LCD display, and it lets you set up advanced features of the controller....

Xseed: Losing Muramasa opened the door for Fragile

Like many games developed by small Japanese studios,Vanillaware‘sMuramasa: The Demon Bladehas something of a shaky history. Questions about whether or not it would be imported, and by whom, created quite the kerfuffle among Western hopefuls. It only got worse when the game played publisher musical chairs a few months ago, bouncing fromXseedtoIgnition Entertainment, who nowhave the rightsto publish the game in North America. Given the amount of hype and positive pressMuramasahas been getting (Burch ‘n Davis’ho-hum E3 impressionsnotwithstanding), Xseed ought to be a little bummed about dropping the title....

YTMND Thursday: No one ever expects Liu Kang!

Pretty good week in YTMND land. My favorites are between the Dragonforce WRONG mashup and No on expects Lui Kang YTMNDs. I know a lot of you can’t stand the WRONG music mashups, but I can’t help but love them. As far as the Lui Kang one goes, you just don’t expect it. The only way it could have been perfect is if the “Finish Him!” music kicked in. I try not to mention the Random Man Now Dogs here, but this weeks one is one of the best of the year so far, in my opinion....

In a recent interview withGamasutra, 2K Boston’s Chris Kline commented that he believed that a game likeBioShockcould be a success on the Wii, as long as audiences were properly introduced to more complex content. Further expounding on the topic of accessibility, Kline mentioned that he does not feel thatWii Fitand other user-friendly titles “aren’t real games”, as some others are quick to say. He does, however, mention that he feels the constantly changing controllers can make it difficult to enter a game’s world with ease:...

2K knows just how to ring my bell this Christmas season

I had intended to place an order for aLittle Sister figurineas soon as I saw 2K had announced them, but with all the holiday madness I never got around to doing so. After opening my mail today, however, it made me really glad I didn’t — 2K were classy enough to send not only a card this year, but packed in a Little Sister as well! There were some people wondering how the Little Sister would look next to the Big Daddy, so I took a few pics to illustrate the difference....
