You have to love the dedication of old school Nintendo fans. They’ll patiently wait years and years for Nintendo to finally throw them a bone, and have been diligently keeping a candle aflame in anticipation ofKid Icarus’long overdue return. According to game developer and cheeky imp Shigeru Miyamoto, however, the wait willhave to continue. “Wait, please. I’m really surprised how popular that is,” said Miyamoto when asked about a series revival last month....

They all share a common theme that, once solved, can help you figure out the harder ones. I’ve got some extra hard ones this week, so no jumble. If you figure out the theme it should be doable, but I tried to really disguise some of the covers to make them difficult to solve....

Episode 4 tells us the story of how Shao Kahn captured Sindel, the creation of Mileena and other sh*t we already know about this series. I don’t know about you, but I was expecting fights to the death in Mortal Kombat. Not all this backstory stuff that’s been beaten into our heads since the early ’90s. Microsofthas claimedthat games bolstered with paid DLC on Xbox Live last a lot longer in the hands of consumers, and generate an extra $21M in sales at retail. Microsoft interactive entertainment business manager Kevin Salcedo used the power of numbers to issue forth this revelation. In order for these extra sales to occur, however, Salcedo added that the DLC generally needs to arrive within a 30-day “sweet spot,” otherwise they could miss out....

Electronic Arts has come out and confirmedyesterday’s leak, a brand new racer calledNeed for Speed The Run, slated for a fall release. The EA Black Box-developed racer will be powered by DICE’s Frostbite 2 engine, the same tech used for the gorgeousBattlefield 3. The game will have players racing across the United States, from New York to San Francisco, as they participate in high-speed, illegal racing. EA’s promising a “gripping storyline,” as well, although it’s not going into details just yet....

They continually profited more year on year while the rest of the planet turned to a shambles. But no more! Malaysia Star is reporting that Nintendo’s profits will fall this year. Now, make no mistake. They made money last year. Boatloads of it. The kind of money where you could pretty much do anything you wanted to if you didn’t have to share it with loads of stockholders....
