Capcom (among other publishers) is doing it up big for San Diego Comic-Con, making me a bit jealous I won’t personally be covering it for Destructoid. Among the stuff on hand, Capcom will begiving away aSpyborgscomic book, exclusive for Comic-Con. A team-up with UDON, the comic explores theSpyborgsuniverse as a prequel that leads up to the start of the game. Looks like all you have to do to get the comic is show up to Capcom’s booth, play the game, and look pretty....

Another stalwart of the old gaming guard has bitten the dust. Acclaim — who brought usTurok,BurnoutandSpace Jamto name a few — is finally dead and gone. The company had already crashed and burned back in 2004 when it filed for bankruptcy, but all its IPs and its name were sold off meaning the name lived on. In its reborn state Acclaim became a free-to-play gaming publisher and made games like MMO9Dragonsand rhythm gameRockFree....

Not everyone wants to play Motorhead and Rage Against The Machine when they fire upRock Band— in fact, I’d go as far as to say fans of certain types of music may even feel alienated by the available tracks. Now country fans can finally play something that hits closer to home with the announcement that next’s week’s DLC will be a country-themed 5 pack. The tracks available will be Brad Paisley’s “Mud on the Tires”, Brooks & Dunn’s “Hillbilly Deluxe”, Dierks Bentley’s “Free & Easy (Down the Road I Go)”, the Dixie Chicks’ “Sin Wagon” and Miranda Lambert’s “Gunpower & Lead”....

Eden’s fire-fueled survival horror sequel is looking amazing and it seems to have carried over into the special edition of the game —just look atall that stuff. HardcoreAlone in the Darkfans, will have everything they could ever want with this set — an Edward figure, a sixty page art book, an audio CD and a DVD all in a kickass box....

Bejeweledmay not the best puzzle game out there, but it could be the most accessible, and that my have something to do with its total sales of 25 million copies. That’s right: since the launch of the first title in 2000, bothBejeweledandBejeweled 2have moved 25 million units on every platform from mobile phones to the in-flight games. That’s not bad for a game PopCap almost sold outright: “Considering we tried to sellBejeweledoutright to more than one industry giant back in the early days of our company and got no takers even after reducing our asking price to $60,000, this little game has done all right for itself,” said Jason Kapalka, co-founder of PopCap, and creator ofBejeweled....

It’s a little known fact that I love anything to do with Norse mythology. They had the best Gods, the best monsters and even inspired the Christian name for Hell itself. Unlike your other pansy religions, Nordic faith involved Gods who were flawed and stories that weren’t just black-and-white. Last week, we discovered thatDragon Age: Originswas sufferinga slight delay, being pushed back to November from October. According to developer BioWare, the delay has nothing to do with quality, and the game has been pushed back so the team can “finalize” things. “We’re just taking a little time to finalise things,”says executive producerMark Darrah. “We’re focusing on making sure that we bring each SKU up to quality.” Darrah also touched upon why the PS3 version is releasing after the PC and Xbox 360, but his answer won’t exactly satisfy curious PlayStation fans: “This is just the order we’ve chosen to [release] them in....

I’ve never really understood launch trailers, although they’ve become an industry standard. Take, for example, theBlazBlue: Calamity Triggertrailer (below the jump) that was released yesterday, to celebrate the game’s successful launchon the Xbox 360 and PS3.
