Lionhead Studios announced today — via itsDevelopment blog— thatFable IIexpansion “See the Future” will be hitting Xbox LIVE Marketplace on May 12 for 560 Microsoft Points. (That’s 240 Space Dollars cheaper than “Knothole Island.”) And yes, that wasthe announcement Lionhead teasedyesterday. The Lionhead Dev blog has oodles of additional details on the content, as well as a link to a “Making of” video (which is also available on Xbox LIVE right now)....

A few days ago we brought you thefirst subbed videoof the incredibleFinal Fantasy XIIItrailer that I salivated all over as this year’s Tokyo Game Show. I wasn’t expecting to see the English-speaking version so soon, but sure enough it popped up today (viaConsole Monster). As a whole, I enjoyed what I heard, although the one voice that rubbed me completely the wrong way was Snow’s. Not because it’s terrible (although I’m sure some of you will think it is), but because it’s not a good fit for the look of his character in my mind....

The Pokemon Global Link — a website that offers added online functionality toPokemon BlackandWhite— was originally scheduled to go live on March 30 for North America and Europe. This is no longer the case. “As a result of the earthquake in Japan and the need to conserve energy resources, the launch date has been temporarily delayed,”writes the temporary site. “When a new launch date is determined, it will be published here on the Pokemon Global Link....

While some of Gamecock’s past antics have been fun, it looks like we may not see quite as many events such as E3 funerals in the future. News broke today that Gamecock have been acquired by SouthPeak Interactive. Yeah, Gamecock’s Mike Wilson was the same guy you heard going on about how profit and pleasing investors were not the ways to succeed as a games company. Considering SouthPeak is a public company now, I’m not sure how much more of that talk you’ll be hearing....

IndustryGamers will have the same writers that GameDaily BIZ did, but with some opinion and research added to the mix,Joystiqsays. “GameDaily’s consumer division took a left turn, we’re taking a right one,” Brightman told Joystiq. “I’m sad to see GameDaily BIZ go away, but I’m thrilled to enter this new chapter of my career with IndustryGamers.”

Gameloft has made a name for itself by creating mobile games “inspired” by popular console franchises. It’s mostly harmless (if rather shameless) but Gameloft has defended its sticky-fingered tactics, claiming that everybody does it. “The video game industry has always played around a limited number of themes. Not much has been revealed about the next DLC forGTA IV, “The Ballad of Gay Tony,” but we’re so excited for it that we’re evenhyping up the Tuesday release of the trailerfor the game. What we do know is that we’ll be taking on the role of Luis Lopez and mixing in with different social circles within Liberty City’s night life. However,now that we have the first screensof the DLC and they involve explosions and guns we can also guarantee that “The Ballad of Gay Tony” will feature explosions and guns....

Tecmo isn’t known for making appearances at the Game Developers Conference, but that looks to be changing as they were around the other day showing offNinja Gaiden Sigma 2for the PlayStation 3. Producer Yosuke Hayashi from Team Ninja gave a presentation on the game and also held a little Q&A session with members of the press. So what’s new? The biggest addition is the inclusion of online co-op. Ryu Hayabusa is now joined by Ayane fromDead or Aliveand Momiji fromNinja Gaiden Dragon Sword....

Gears of War 2’smultiplayer is a drag. The particularly vocal Internet crowd said they have abandoned Epic’s glitch-ridden frag fest entirely. (These are the same folks who said they would never buy another EA published game or purchase a magazine because it gave their favorite game a low score). A few weeks ago, Epic’s Marc Reinpromised a fix for the exploitsthat has deterred many legitimate players. That title update isnow availablefor download....

With only about a month to go beforeGuitar Hero 5‘s September 1 release, Activision has decided to reveal the game’s final 15 tracks. Oddly, a number of the tracks had already been revealed during or around E3 (Arctic Monkeys’ “Brianstorm” and Stevie Wonders’ “Superstition,” for example). But let’s act surprised: For those following along, you might notice that the game features 85 songs, butnot85 individual bands or artists. So what’s getting doubled up?...
