Seriously, “Hidden Object casual game?” Why would anyone come up with such an odd — not to mention boring — phrase to describe an upcoming game? I mean, c’mon GameMill Entertainment, no one is going to want to playLost Secrets Bermuda Trianglewith such a terrible sales pitch; you’ve got to give us a little more information than that. “GameMill and Gunnar Games have worked together to create a hidden object game with in depth levels, minigames, and puzzles that stand above the rest,” said Gary Miller, CEO of GameMill Entertainment....

…Eternity’s Childdidn’t look too bad either. Obviously, with this being a game from Luc Bernard’s new Wiiware/DS/iPhone company, I can imagine that the entire gamer community will be skeptical, but I hope that Bernard pulls out the goods with this newAdvance Wars-esque strategy title, whichhas now been revealedasMecho Wars. Luc’s wonderful art style is said to be complimented by an actual design document this time. Bernard and collaborater Shane Gill are handling all the concept, design and story....

My cynicism regarding the 3DS is well known by now, but you won’t catch me sharing my robust skepticism when it comes to Nintendo’s software.Luigi’s Mansion 2is a damn exciting prospect, and reminds me why I haven’t thrown my 3DS into a river yet (aside from the fact that I am so fat, the act of throwing would give me a hernia). You know, I had an entirely different wall of text that I was about to write here, but then three ghosts visited me last night and showed me the true meaning of the Internet. So, without further ado or any unwarranted snarkiness, allow me to say a few things. Over the past year, a lot have things have changed here at Destructoid. It’s easy to forget how far Xbox Live has come since 2002. Microsoft has, according to Major Nelson, started clearing out “previously used and unavailable (dead) Gamertags.” So if some squatter has a hold on your ‘tag of choice, you might just be in luck. “This process will take some time to complete, and no we can’t tell you when the Gamertag you want might be available. If you are interested, you should check back regularly as we are reviving Gamertags daily....

The state of PC gaming has been a hot topic in recent months. Some members of the industry have maintained apositiveoutlook while others have been a bit morenegative. Now Microsoft VP John Schappert has decided to chime in and agree with the former group, saying that things are fine and dandy in the land of mice and keyboards. “Today I’m excited to report that Microsoft and a growing community of the gaming industry’s leading publishers, hardware manufacturers and retailers have made the Windows-based PC the largest gaming platform in the world....

Last week,Modern Warfare 2was afflicted with a bug thatI likened to AIDSbecause it wasexactly similar in every single wayand people even died because of it. Fortunately, unlike real AIDS,Modern Warfare 2‘s AIDS can be patched over. If only we could’ve done the same for Freddy Mercury. AIDS. The patch, due to be released this morning, will fix the “akimbo shotgun” glitch and the private match glitch, where people pass on a “bug” to other players that gives them unlimited ammo with no reloads....

The second big UK mod bust finds Neil Stanley Higgs out of a really good gig. The modchip vending business (www.mrmodchips.comandwww.mrmodchips.co.uk) he began in 2002 made him over £1 million, but that all came to an end when the Bristol City Council’s Trading Standards after Entertainment and Leisure Software Publishers Association (ELSPA) tracked him down. Poor Higgs was hit with 26 offenses, including several counts for possession of multiple chipped consoles, advertising mod chips, and of course supplying and selling them....

In line with their usual trend of making enough games to choke a small horse, Square has a new DS game in the works. Famitsu has published some scans fromSigma Harmonics, which will be released in Japan this summer. There are no details about an American release, but it’s safe to say Square wants our money too, so we will likely get it stateside. More on that as soon as more details come to light, ladies and gents....

The almost continual promotional build up forDeus Ex: Human Revolutionhas me foaming at the mouth wanting this game. This new trailer shows some of the shadowy forces that the main protagonist, Adam Jensen, will be hunting. Knowing how deep the the original game went into the murky world of The Illuminati and similar groups,Human Revolutionlooks to be following the same dark path. As aDeus Exfanboy, these trailers have convinced me that Eidos Montreal have at the very least, nailed the look and the aesthetic of the series....
