At the cleverly titled “MTV Games” panel at Comic-Con today, Harmonix and MTV Games revealed six more tracks that will appear on theRock Band 3disc when it ships this fall. The songs include: The B-52s’ “Rock Lobster”; Def Leppard’s “Foolin'”; Tears for Fears’ “Everybody Wants To Rule The World”; Marilyn Manson’s “Beautiful People”; Filter’s “Hey Man Nice Shot”; and Foreigner’s “Cold As Ice.” The tracks will be among the 83 that will come on the disc, a handful of which were alreadypreviously announced, a number of otherssimply rumored....

Oh, how the tides turn. One moment, Simon Jeffery was the President and COO of SEGA of America. Now, he’s Chief Publishing Officer atngmoco, whose name may ring a bell since they made the rather memorableRolando. Hey, SEGA needs a new president! Jeffery will head up a new ngmoco division called Plus+ Publishing, which aims to partner with other iPhone/iTouch developers and boost use of the Plus+ Network. From what they’re saying, the Plus+ Network is aiming to accomplish something like what Xbox Live does by giving gamers a way to interact and play against one another, sharing scores, etc....

What good is a lazy wave-your-hand menu and dashboard navigation system when you have to get off the couch and stand up to use it? That’s what we’ve all been wondering. Now it seems that you can keep your fat ass planted when using Kinect to navigate the Xbox 360 dashboard. Joystiqtried out the menu and movie controls at a gamescom meeting in sit mode and found that it works pretty well in several situations....

If you weren’t aware,Civilization V‘s lead designer Jon Shafer left Firaxis Games not long ago. According to Big Download, the departure happened on good terms, and he is now employed by Stardock. Shafer is now going to work onElemental: War of Magic, a game that had a rough launch but is said to have been vastly improved since. He’ll be helping out with design again, as well as increasing mod support, and will eventually move on to an unannounced project at Stardock....

Now isn’t that arealshocker? Another Christmas has rolled around, and Nintendo has once again stated that itmay not be ableto meet demand, despite production being at an all-time high. “Nintendo has continually raised the production levels of the Wii hardware,” stated Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime.“We’re now producing 2.4 million units a month worldwide. Last year, we made 1.6 million a month. So we’ve made a 33% increase.” You can trust that Reggie of all people has certainly beefed up the production, but it seems that the gravy boat just isn’t big enough and there is plenty of meat to the rumors that the Wii is hard to find....

The Tecmo/Koei/Square Enix love trianglecontinuesas Tecmo has responded to Square Enix’s letter. Squeenix was snubbed after its friendly offer to take over Tecmo was rejected, and theNinja Gaidenpublisher instead announced that it was in talks with Koei over a possible merger. Square Enix wrote a letter asking for three clarifications from Tecmo, which can beread here. Tecmo has finally responded with this cordial but blunt set of answers: “The reason why the Tecmo board members did not accept this offer is because of the decision to begin merger talks with Koei....

The other afternoon I asked myself (via the Internet of all places) why I wasn’t participating in theMAGbeta. Like most of my peers with a soft spot for lead and things that fire said lead, I was blown away by the promise of the Zipper Interactive-developed titlewhen revealed at E3 ’08. No way could a console shooter do the things uttered, support that many players, I thought. Just, no way at all....

Koei Tecmo has teased a new game at the Tokyo Game Show, and while the teaser may very well be one of the lamest of all time, the name attached to it,Hokuto no Ken(Fist of the North Star) has gotten people talking. This is personally a new one to me, but many fans are excited for a sequel to some PS2 fighter that apparently was rather great. So, people are quite eager to find out if this is heading Westard, and for those people I will definitely keep an ear to the ground and find out what’s up....

If there’s one thing you can count on in a games show, it’s the Internet suddenly being swamped with shaky, handheld camera footage of people failing at videogames. We had a lot of links to less-than-stellar quality gameplay videos coming in today, thanks to our news contributors Joe Burling and Blindside Dork, along with our regular (and much loved) tipster TheGoldenDonut. Since they’re really not grand enough to post as seperate pieces (and I really don’t need to make another six posts today), I decided to compile and post them in one huge, sticky wad for you to lap at your leisure....

Looks like theTekkenseries is going into complete global saturation mode. FirstStreet Fighter Vs. Tekken, thenTekken Vs. Street Fighter, and nowTekken Tag 2. I thought thatTekken VS. Street Fighterwas supposed to be the de factoTekken Tag 2. Looks like I was wrong. That was the big announcement from tonight’s Super Battle Opera, the big fighting game tourney from here in Tokyo. Speaking of being in Tokyo, it’s totally awesome. I think I know where there’s an arcade with a Yun and Yang enabledSuper Street Fighter 4 Arcadecabinet....

Congratulations to my dear friends on the 100 episode of RetroforceGO! The gang talks about all sorts of stuff as they answered listener questions and I can’t wait until the gang comes back in a few weeks for the new season. We’re halfway into shark week, folks! It’s almost like a holiday for me, except I’m still working so … yeah. What has made this week really awesome though is all of YOU!
