Resident Evil 5 PC system requirements? Yep, we got ’em

There’s no short supply of vocal people around these parts who didn’t enjoyResident Evil 5. Why? My guess is they didn’t find it scary enough, it was too similar toResident Evil 4, and it also wasn’t as good as its predecessor. Does that make it a ridiculously horrible game that no one should ever play? Apparently. But for those who foundResident Evil 5to be the game equivalent of a summer action flick, or just plain liked hearingD....

Review: Flight Control

Note to self: never play a game calledFlight Controlwhile at an airport and immediately before your own flight leaves. Sure, the game may be cute and light on violence, but watching planes collide is never fun when you’re about to hit the skies. Other than jarring myself withFlight Controlbefore stepping onto my own flight home after E3, I’ve had a great time with the title. But I’ll stop there because I don’t desire to spill the review beans before the break....

Review: Lost Planet 2

In 2007, Capcom’sLost Planet: Extreme Conditionwas a decent start for a franchise. It featured stunning graphics that drove home the point of high-definition “next-gen” visuals, with massive, elaborately detailed monster boss battles like we hadn’t seen before. It shipped with a decent multiplayer mode that Capcom continued to support, due to gamer interest, well past the game’s initial release. Things were looking good when the publisher announcedLost Planet 2, a title that gamers hoped would trump the original, bringing with it a four-player cooperative campaign....

Review: Sonic the Hedgehog 2 iPhone

Who would have thought, back in the mid-nineties, that we would one day be able to playSonic the Hedgehog 2on our telephones? How absurd! We take things like the iPhone for granted now, but back whenSonic 2was released, the closest we could get to taking Sega on the road was the Game Gear, and we all know how wonderfulthatwas. Fast forward over ten years, and we haveSonic 2for the iPhone and iPod Touch....

Rocksteady talks about the ‘Making of’ Batman Arkham Asylum

A new developer diary forBatman Arkham Asylumis available below the fold. It’s a “making of” video that touches on the game’s narrative and environmental design, as well as motion-capture and Rocksteady Studios’ desire to create a solid Batman title (for the first time, ever). The last bit is the sticking point. Game director and studio co-founder Sefton Hill describes, in the video, what it feels like to attempt to create a greatBatmantitle:...

Rumor: Midway withholds the games?

While looking around the web, the following blog by 1UP’s Andrew Pfister caught my attention. It seems as if Midway was less than amused over the recent “lack of attention” that they’ve been getting from the guys at 1UP. See for yourself: You may have noticed that we’re running a bit late on ourMortal KombatWii review…apologies for that. Why is it late? Because Midway didn’t send the game to us for review....

Rumors abound on Nintendo’s new console

The cat is out of the bag now.Game Informerpreviouslystated a new Nintendo console was on the way, capable of 1080p resolutions. Rumortoid: PlayStation 4 specs revealed?

Writing this up, I feel like one of those bloggers from those scummy bottom-feeding game blogs that just makes sh*t up for pageviews. You know the type:SEGA Revived, Creating Shemune/Final Fantasy/Knight Rider Hybrid MMO. I would point fingers, but that’s put me in the hot seat in the past. PC Worldlinks to what looks to be some early PS4 details. Apparently, these rough details were sent to developers, with Sony looking for feedback....

SDTV owners rejoice: You’ll actually be able to read the text in Dead Space

With each passing generation of consoles, cutting-edge graphics have been the delight of many. Unfortunately, there have been some nasty side effects for others: those still living in the standard-definition land of TV viewing have had to squint their way through countless games when it comes to text, maps, or both. I’ve never been the type to question progress, yet I have wondered on numerous occasions why some developers have seemingly forgotten that not all of their customers have taken the high-definition plunge — regardless of whether or not their consoles have that capability....

Seahawks receiver unhappy with Madden rating, boycotts game

Sure, the annualMaddenratings are a big deal to football players — and for the particularly egotistical ones, it’s natural to feel that the game doesn’t properly assess their talents. But this one crosses a bit too far into ridiculousness. Seattle Seahawks wide receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh (that’sHOOSH-mund-ZA-deh) feels thatMadden NFL 10has underrated him at a 91, so in a show of protest, he declared on Colin Cowherd’s ESPN Radio show on Monday that hewon’t be playing the game....
