Everyone loved the old-school hack-n’-slash gameplay, cartoony art style, and wonderful humor of last summer’sCastle Crashers. Ok, not really. I’m sure THQ loves Canada just as equally as the rest of the world. However, it turns out that a whole bunch of copies ofCompany of Heroes: Tales of Valorshipped up in Canada with incomplete instruction booklets. Inconveniently, the section that was ‘incomplete’ just happened to be the section where the CD key was supposed to go. Oops! Don’t despair, my Canadian friends. If you bought the game and your CD key is missing, you just need to take a picture of the back of your manual where the key was supposed to go and a picture of your sales recepit, and send them toTHQ’s support site....

Nintendo is kicking the football season into high-gear today, with the Wii Shop Channel release ofNES Play Action Football(NES, 1-4 players, 500 Wii Points) for the Wii’s Virtual Console. With no NFL license, and one of the weirdest play perspectives in football games, this game might not be as enticing to football fans today as it was back in 1990. Even the once impressive in-game digital voices (“First down!”) may not be enough to warrant a purchase for fans....

The appropriately titled TorchED, the editor for — yup, you guessed it — Runic Games’Torchlight, is now up for download. At 384 MB, it’ll be no time beforethe program is beamedto your hard drive using black cyberspace magic. Once you have a basic understanding of TorchED, you can use it to create stuff like levels, quests, skills, dinosaurs, Brad Nicholson’s pecs, toucans of the non-cereal variety, and the list goes on....

Sony Online Entertainment’s MMORPGVanguard: Saga of Heroeswas generally perceived as a huge letdown when it launched back in early 2007. Even so, that hasn’t kept SOE from trying to work the kinks out for the faithful few that continue to stick with it, as the recent Game Update 6 demonstrates. According to thepatch notes, Update 6 includes fixes for over 1000 bugs. Yikes! It’s pretty sad that the game had so many problems this far after launch, but at least SOE is working on them....

Wow. The Spike Video Game Awards are the place to be this year. If the newly announcedhost Sammy J. wasn’t enough to excite you, then maybe the addition of a full-blown videogame orchestral concert would be. Touring game music concert Video Games Livewill perform at Spike TV’s 2007 Video Game Awards. This awards show, airingDecember 9 (9:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT), will be VGL’s television debut. They are slated to perform some selected popular pieces from their concert line up and will also be adding some new, unseen material....

Something big is apparently headed to the Virtual Console, andGo Nintendogot hint of it first. Do you want to see the opening movie forZelda: Ocarina of Time 3D? Bam! Enjoy. I saw it live last year when they debuted the 3DS at E3. It’s theonlything they showed then, and it’s really just a copy of the Nintendo 64 original opening. Still, I’m glad it’s coming in portable form, and in 3D. The 3D part excited me when I first saw it. Of course, you may’t see that here....
