The NXE is almost upon us, and Microsoft certainly seems in the mood to celebrate. They have announced that they will be giving away a total of one million Microsoft points as part of the New Xbox Experience launch. The luckiest gamer will win 500,000 points, but other bundles of 50,000, 10,000 and 5,000 will also be given away. There’s a catch, though (isn’t there always!). to enter you’ll need to download the NXE, get your gamertag registered, and then purchase premium content from the marketplace — a movie, a show, a full-length game, etc....
Wow. What a crazy journey this has been. From beginning to end, every minute put into organizing this years Dtoid Extra Life charity event was worth it. Â It all started when Dtoid community member mentioned that he wanted to get involved in this years Extra Life campaign, and I told him that DtoidSF would organize something. Sure, you could play the same games at home, but there’s something about a noisy arcade that brings me back to my childhood, so I still seek them out. Xenoblade Chronicleslaunched in Europe last week, and it seems to have had a pretty solid debut. The RPG that Nintendo of Americawon’t localizedebuted at number two on theBritish Wii Charts. If you’re thinking that says very little due to the fact that the Wii has nothing else to buy, then you might be cheered to know that theoverall multiplatform chartsplaces the game at number seven, which ain’t shabby at all....
As if the leaked screenshots hadn’talready confirmed it, it does indeed appear that the still-unannounced Xbox LIVE Arcade port of Sega’sSonic Adventureis headed our way. Destructoid reader Damon sent along word that the XBLA version of the title was recently reviewed in the latest issue of the UK magazine,360 Gamer. According to the review, the game is a “no frills” port of the main game featured inSonic Adventure DX, the enhanced GameCube update of the original title....
I don’t buy a lot of toys, mostly because I lack places to put them but also because they’re often prohibitively expensive and I have enough costly habits as it is. Every once in a while, a toy comes along that makes me gasp in awe and makes me want to reconsider this policy. So it is with this incredibly badassMetal Gear SolidZombie Snake figure from Japanese toymaker Medicom. I love the blocky look they gave him....
