Summa’s top ten games that need to be revived

As most of you I’m sure know by now, last night’s Epileptic Gamingwas pretty much off the hook. But besides our drunken tirades, one of the big things we talked about was our top 10 lists that we each created that harped on games/gaming franchises that should be brought back to next-gen consoles. I wanted to not only share with you my “script” for the show, but also wanted to hear what all my hardcore Dtoid faithful thought on the subject....

Super Monkey Ball confirmed for PlayStation Vita

Following the PlayStation Vita-taggedSuper Monkey Ballscreenshotsfrom this weekend, Sega has sent out a confirmation that the game exists. The series is hitting up a new system while it has a chance to sell decently? Shocking, I know. Not like that’s ever happened before or anything. Right now, they’re simply calling itSuper Monkey Ball, though I suspect that might change as we move closer to next year. Sega says there will be original mini-games, in addition to the beloved Monkey Target, plus support for the dual analog sticks and both touch screens....

Test Drive Unlimited 2 dated, pre-order items revealed

Atari has announced that Test Drive Unlimited 2, its open-world racing title for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC, will hit shelves on September 21. It’s also announced a slew of pre-order items, different depending on where you purchase the game. Just to make things really confusing, of course. I’m rocking the copy-paste job with info straight from Atari after the jump, because I’m getting tired just thinking about making such a hard decision....

TGS 09: More crazy footage of 0 Day Attack on Earth

Every sinceColette comparedSquare Enix’s0 Day Attack on EarthtoEarth Defense Force 2017, I have been freakishly interested in the shmup. Quite frankly, I suck at the genre, but even that discouraging fact isn’t enough to dissuade me. Perhaps the game’s new TGS-flavored trailer is expertly cut to make0 Day Attack on Earthseem playable for unskilled individuals such as myself in order to trick us into surrendering our wallets. Perhaps not. Whatever the case may be, the footage shown looks epic for all the right reasons....

TGS: Shinobido 2 gives ninjas a home on the PS Vita

You can be forgiven for glancing atShinobidoand presuming it to be aTenchuknock-off. After you stop raging and consider it looks kind of neat, you may do a quick Google search and discover it’s made by the same developer, Acquire. The game is being promoted as a hybrid of our favorite ninja stealth series and Acquire’s other flagship series,Way of the Samurai. Among the other PS Vita titles,Shinobido 2: Tales of the Ninjastands out due to its clever use of the system’s touch functionality and its Muromachi-era Japan setting....

The Eye of Judgement might need glasses

InIGN’s reviewof the PlayStation 3 card-based titleThe Eye of Judgement, they note that the camera-based card detection can actually be fooled, which may enable a type of cheating. The game has a cheat-proof registering function, which forces players to pre-register their decks by scanning each card before games to prevent “under the table” card switching action. This is a good measure, but they didn’t factor in that someone might try to copy “good” cards....

The friends and foes of DeathSpank: Thongs of Virtue

Hothead Games sent over a bunch of character bios on the people you’ll meet in the upcoming sequel toDeathSpank, subtitledThongs of Virtue. These are both folks you’ll help and enemies that you’ll dispense hot, foamy justice to. Santa seems like a pretty big deal (literally) but my favorite is General Snugglewugglepants for obvious reasons. Those being that he’s a General and his last name is Snugglewugglepants. Obviously. God, I lovedDeathSpank. While I can understand some people being a bit miffed that a sequel is coming so soon after the original, I couldn’t be happier....

The Most Rad Dorm Ever

Do you guys say “raddest” or “most rad?” Man, college was a nightmare, huh? –Oh, right, I didn’t go. Boy, was I mistaken — instead of languishing at acting school with boys taking their clothes off and crying in class while teachers dredged up all of ourDaddy Issues, I could have been getting fat, coloring on people’s faces with Sharpie, and possibly learning things if I was the boring type who didn’t have a social life rife with “gray rape“, Natural Ice, and cream-filled water balloons....
