This Diabolical Pitch trailer raises even more questions

And now I seewhy Hamza calledGrasshopper Manufacture’sDiabolical Pitcha “fighting baseball hybrid thing.” I am similarly struggling to come up with humanly descriptors here. Perhaps that’s just the Suda51 way. It’ll be interesting to see how this plays out as a full game, even if it is only an Xbox Live Arcade release. Speaking of which, depending on how frequently you have to do that full pitch motion, this could get strenuous rather quickly....

Pat. Pat. Pat. EA is continuing its leaky faucet approach to roster reveals for its upcoming mixed-martial arts game EA MMA. Hours ago the publisher confirmed, via Twitter, three new digital brawlers for the game: Joachim Hansen, Josh Barnett, and Vladimir Matyushenko. Interestingly all the three fighters all their own Twitter accounts, each of which was meticulously linked in the original reveal tweet. Tokyo Game Show: Highest attendance ever, next year dated

The folks at the CESA have just sent along the final numbers for the 2011 Tokyo Game Show. The event broke attendance records again for the second year in a row with a final number of 222,668 people pouring in and out of the doors of Makuhari Messe. I think I touched about 40 percent of those people. I think I pushed about 5 percent of those people. I’m a dick....

Ubisoft’s first promotional video for new Prince of Persia is a dirty tease

When the Gametrailers folks emailed us with this new video of Ubisoft’s next-genPrince of Persiatitle, I was all like “Oh my God! No way!” They were like “Yeah, totally.” And then I said, “That’s going to be soooo sweet!” And then they nodded knowingly before walking off into the sunset. So imagine my disappointment when I find that this first official promotional trailer for the forthcomingPrince of Persiatitle contains absolutely no gameplay whatsoever....

Upgrading to 3DS? Don’t get rid of your DS just yet…

Nintendo’s 3DS, which hits shelves on March 27, is a pretty stellar handheld device. From its physical design to the build-in software, from its spectacular in-game visuals to the glasses-free 3D, I feel confident in saying that the 3DS is easily Nintendo’s best handheld to date. It almost every way it exceeds the capabilities of the original Nintendo DS and the DSi. The keyword here is “almost,” because there’s one area where the 3DS can’t quite compare to the DS: playing DS games....

Valve reflects on the Left 4 Dead 2 boycott

WithLeft 4 Dead 2out this week (review coming soon!), thenotorious boycottof Valve’s zombie apocalypse sequel is all but forgotten. Even so, Valve has been reflecting on the incident withVideogamer.com, talking about how it was like a “fight inside the family” and how they never wanted it to become an “us versus them” struggle like the gaming media (myself included, because it was great fun) did. “But it was more like a fight inside the family,” explains writer Chet Faliszek....

Worms Reloaded is finally bringing Worms back to the PC

Ahh,Worms. The game my friends and I secretly installed on all the computers in our middle school’s computer lab so that we could play instead of doing whatever asinine “Learn how to use a computer!” task we had been assigned. It’s been 10 years since there was a newWormsgame on the PC, but that’s about to change. Worms Reloaded‘s release date has just been announced, and it’s coming out on Steam on August 26th....

Would you pay a monthly fee for MMOs on the Xbox 360?

We’re not just asking this because we think it’s a good question. You see, thewatercooleropen bar talk here lately is that Microsoft is trying to lock down some kind of MMO standard for Xbox Live and the Xbox 360. And from what we understand, they want that standard to be you paying both for Xbox Live and a monthly fee (or some kind of regular fee) to play these MMOs. I told one heavily involved person close to the subject that most gamers would not go for this....

In the grand pantheon of games to fall back on when you’re waiting at a bus stop or just simply bored at home,Plants vs. Zombiesis probably the best there is.
