Pat. Pat. Pat. EA is continuing its leaky faucet approach to roster reveals for its upcoming mixed-martial arts game EA MMA. Hours ago the publisher confirmed,via Twitter, three new digital brawlers for the game: Joachim Hansen, Josh Barnett, and Vladimir Matyushenko. Interestingly all the three fighters all their own Twitter accounts, each of which was meticulously linked in the original reveal tweet. Vladimir — colorfully known asVlad the Janitoron the social Web site — has by far the most interesting stuff....

The folks at the CESA have just sent along the final numbers for the 2011 Tokyo Game Show. The event broke attendance records again for the second year in a row with a final number of 222,668 people pouring in and out of the doors of Makuhari Messe. I think I touched about 40 percent of those people. I think I pushed about 5 percent of those people. I’m a dick....

Nintendo’s 3DS, which hits shelves on March 27, is a pretty stellar handheld device. From its physical design to the build-in software, from its spectacular in-game visuals to the glasses-free 3D, I feel confident in saying that the 3DS is easily Nintendo’s best handheld to date. It almost every way it exceeds the capabilities of the original Nintendo DS and the DSi. The keyword here is “almost,” because there’s one area where the 3DS can’t quite compare to the DS: playing DS games....

Ahh,Worms. The game my friends and I secretly installed on all the computers in our middle school’s computer lab so that we could play instead of doing whatever asinine “Learn how to use a computer!” task we had been assigned. It’s been 10 years since there was a newWormsgame on the PC, but that’s about to change. Worms Reloaded‘s release date has just been announced, and it’s coming out on Steam on August 26th....

We’re not just asking this because we think it’s a good question. You see, thewatercooleropen bar talk here lately is that Microsoft is trying to lock down some kind of MMO standard for Xbox Live and the Xbox 360. And from what we understand, they want that standard to be you paying both for Xbox Live and a monthly fee (or some kind of regular fee) to play these MMOs. Hell, it’s probably one of the best games out there in terms of fun, period.
