This is, of course, the “new 2-D fighter” from Capcom thatwe talked aboutearlier in the month. For those of you here in the States, you might remember the gameDevil Kings, orSengoku Basara, which this game is based off of. So, they’ve taken a 3-D brawler and turned it into a 2-D fighter…the exact opposite of Arc andGuilty Gear....

Lords of Shadowis Konami’s “re-imagining” of theCastlevaniaseries as a third-person, action-adventure title in the vein of titles likeGod of War, along with a hint ofShadow of the Colossus. The title was developed by MercurySteam, who had previously worked onClive Barker’s Jericho, along with Kojima Productions. It’s out this week for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. We’ll have our review up as soon as Jim can finish the copy he’s planning on buying tomorrow, when the game is released....

Roughly a month following the game’sfirst revealin Famitsu,Catherineseems to be much further along than we could have anticipated. Character designer Shigenori Soejima revealed via the game’s official development blog that the sexually-charged adventure from Persona Team is “undergoing final tuning” right now. The blog has a number of other interesting tidbits. This includes a point where Soejima offers justification for the game’s erotic elements, saying that they, “cannot be done away with if you want to realistically portray adult love....

We still don’t officially know ifNBA Jamwill actually be coming to thePlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, but in the meantime, you can take a look at the in-game results of this summer’s NBA free agency period. The Chicago Bulls have bolstered their roster with the acquisition of Carlos Boozer, formerly of the Utah Jazz. But of course, the biggest off-season story is the Miami Heat, who have re-signed Dwyane Wade while adding erstwhile Toronto Raptor Chris Bosh and LeBron James, wholeft the Cleveland Cavaliers....

I had a chance to play the latest build of the 3DS version ofSpider-Man: Edge of Timeat an Activision event during PAX 2011. I played it right after checking out the PS3 version of the game, and I was surprised to see just how similar the two were. We’ve told youaboutEdge of Timebefore in acouple of previews, but the final PS3 game was playable at the event, and I was able to see the first 20 minutes or so of the game, from the opening cutscenes and game introduction on....

While we’re still having nightmares about angering Mama because I overcooked a Japanese Hamburg steak, Majesco have gone and announcedCooking Mama 2: Dinner With Friendsfor the Nintendo DS. In addition to containing a slew of brand new recipes,Dinner with Friendsalso includes several new modes of play. While the game appears to stick with the basic formula of cooking mini-games, players are now challenged with cooking for picky, ungrateful friends who will be tasting and judging each meal....

Crytek really knows how to build a city — and then demolish it in just the right way — if the fallen Statue of Liberty arm is any indication. I wonder. How long does it take to put together these screenshots that accentuate a game’s visual prowess? Because the way the character in the image above is lifting one leg sure doesn’t look like it happened by accident....

The above clip — the newest piece of multiplayer cinematic documentation from the upcomingCall of Duty 4— is designed entirely around the forthcoming title’s wide array of penetration options. Many games in the past have promised full penetration only to blueball us with MTV-style quick cuts or half-assed “ok, that should be penetration, but we can’t really tell” situations and angles. Honestly, we’re tired of this kind of bait-and-switch, and it’s nice to see Infinity Ward giving us a bone in the form of full, consistent, glorious penetration....

Square Enix has lifted the veil on the limited edition ofDeus Ex: Human Revolution. The Augmented Edition comes packed with a 40-page art book, a making-of DVD and an animated graphic novel in special packaging. This edition will run you the standard premium of $69.99 on the consoles and $59.99 on PC. In addition to these details, we’ve also received two videos outlining the two different pre-order bonuses being offered. Gordon Van Dyke, the guy you may or may not know as the producer forBattlefield: Bad Company 2, has left DICE to work on a unnamed project at Visceral Games. Almost two weeks ago, we caughtthe first actof Doctor Octoroc’s 8-bit presentation ofDr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Game, based on the Joss Whedon web sensation of similar name. At that time, it was uncertain when the second portion of the three-act musical would be hitting. Seems like Octoroc got to work after all the hub-bub on the net about his project and he’s cranked out that very second act for your viewing pleasure....
