First up, the gallery below has some pictures of a new map forHalo: Reach. The Firefight map is called “Corvette “and it’s a very purple place. On to the real meat. This above video details the Spartan IIIs you’ll be working with throughout the campaign. The really awesome (and nerdy) part of this whole trailer, though, is the reveal of Dr. Hasley. As far as I know, this is the first official character modeling by Bungie of the creator of the Spartan project and of the super AI Cortana....

Sony has officially revealed its PlayStation 3 motion controller, and it’s not called the rumor “Arc.” Nope, it’s PlayStation Move. The controller will be offered in a number of flavors to consumers. The Move controller itself will be offered as a standalone product for those that already own the the PlayStation Eye, which is require to use the controller. A “started kit” will also be made available, which will include the controller, the Eye, as well as a game; Sony is shooting for this kit to come in at under $100....

Gears of War 2is still very much alive and kicking as far as online multiplayer communities go. I know this because I’ve totally been playing the game lately, not because some nicely formatted email worked its way into my inbox. Not a chance! The sixth title update, which is making the rounds today, does a few interesting things — like add Social matches (aka player matches) into the mix. Some general tweaking of the other match types has been included to differentiate this new one from the classics....

Unless there’s some last minute change, theGears of War 3multiplayer beta drops this April. The beta will include the maps Thrashball and Checkout, both shown off in the gallery below. There’s also a third map and it’s up to you to vote which map will be in the game. The beta will include some of the new weapons too, such as the Retro Lancer, sawed-off shotgun, One Shot and Incendiary grenade....

Capcom has finally nailed down a January 11 release date for its upcoming Nintendo DS title,Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective. Designed byAce Attorneydaddy Shu Takumi, the game has players controlling real-world objects from the spirit world to solve your own murder, and influencing (and changing) the fate of the game’s characters. I spent a decent amount of time with thegame earlier this year, and it immediately jumped onto my “most wanted” list....

This is more of a public service announcement than anything else. That Mad Catz Street Fighter IV Tournament Fightstick you’ve been wanting since February is now available at Amazon.com. Today there’s a stock ofPS3 ones awaiting your order, priced at $149.99. The stock ofXbox 360 Fightsticksshould be good to go next week, on July 7th. A tweet from Kazunori Yamauchi, bossman at Polyphony Digital, confirms that the biggest update toGran Turismo 5, Spec 2.0, is coming next month. Thetweet: GT fans, thanks for waiting… The GT5 Spec 2.0 update is coming the 3rd week of October, with DLC following a week later. A date, at least. Good. No details yet, though. I expect a nice, big feature list barf from Sony sometime soon.
