Sony confirms that their 60GB stock is fully depleted

It looks like Sony’s plan to move the remaining stock of 60GB PS3s at a $499 price point is working like a charm. GameProsaid yesterday that the SonyStyle online store’s supply of the 60GB model was listed as back ordered (though some have been shifted from retail stores to meet web demand), and now it looks like Sony’s warehouses are totally out of this model. “We no longer have any inventory in SCEA warehouses....

Space Invaders watch does not have playable game, still manages to be awesome

After years of keeping it all inside my head, I have finally started to express my inner gamer through fashion. And this licensedSpace Invaderswatch would be an excellent way to do that. It manages to be attractive in the sense that I’m an adult and it looks like a vibrant LED display. And then the demo-like animation of invading… umm… invaders would scroll across and reveal what an utter dork I truly am....

SquareEnix trademarks Lord of Vermillion: why does that name sounds familiar

Apparently, Square Enix has registered a new trademark at the Japanese patent office. Square Enix registered the title,Lord of Vermillionon September 27 — so this could this mean they have a new game franchise in the making, or perhaps a sequel to a past Sega game? Sword of Vermilionwas a Genesis title, which could mean Square Enix bought the franchise from Sega. This could also be a sequel or an expansion toFinal Fantasy XI, as there was an item in the game called the “Vermillion Cloak,” orLord of Vermillioncould also be a brand new game of its own....

Star Wars is what giant touch screens were made for

This thing completely passed under my radar, but it’s too awesome not to share. Grad studentArthur Nishimotohas been working at the University of Illinois at Chicago’s Electronic Visualization Laboratory on ways to turn enormous touch screen panels into what they were surely made for: gaming interfaces. After creating a prototype for a Star Wars tactical space strategy game for a TacTile 52″ multi-touch display, inspired byStar Wars: RebellionandEmpire at War, he turned it into an 8160×2304 resolution version for a 20-feet wide 16 Megapixel LCD multi-touch wall....

Sucker Punch backpedals on redesign of Cole in inFamous 2

When Sucker Punch announcedinFamous 2, they showed off a vastly different Cole than the one we’d come to know from the first installment. It was a startling shift, seeing the man get prettied up and smoothed over. For many, it crossed some sort of line. Fan outrage was so strong, it turns out, that Sucker Punch is now redesigning Cole again to take him closer to the hero of old. From Comic-Con, IGN is reporting that they have seen two images of the character representing this shift....
