It makes you question just why the heck we do the things we do in videogames. Compared to other titles under the Adult Swim banner, this one is more conventional in premise. That’s not to say it doesn’t do anything different, or funny, because it does both....
Cool. As much as I’m a fan of straining weird analogies, there isn’t a single one to be found in this post’s title:Record Trippingis quite literally (A) made up of minigames, (B) set to a simultaneous soundtrack of Gorillaz backbeats and an audiobook recording ofAlice in Wonderland, and (C) controlled almost entirely using the mousewheel. While scrolling up or down alters some part of the game world (turning the dial on a safe, for example), it also turns the player into a DJ of children’s literature....
I’m going to venture a guess and assume that you do not have as much time on your hands as Roman DeNu. This gamer has recreated the entire overworld ofThe Legend of Zelda: A Link to the PastinMinecraft. The map, which is 512×512 with a depth of up to 104 blocks, took him just under (as in one minute; he counted) 109 hours. And he’s not done, either. DeNu plans to further expand by also recreating the Dark World as well as every dungeon, cave and building in the game....
Once again, the people have spoken and while the numbers were a lot closer this time around, we still have a clear winner. Backlog will be playing Viewtiful Joe 2 for the foreseeable future. I am very excited because I love this series and am looking forward to finally seeing this one through. Japanese gamers are not the biggest fans of Western shooters, butFallout 3still managed to rank in the top ten in last week’s Media Create sales numbers for the island country. Debuting at a respectable number 9 with 30,600 units sold, the Xbox 360 version ofFallout 3did pretty well. Knowing that the Xbox 360 install base is limited when compared to the PS3 in Japan, that’s pretty good. The PS3 version comes out in January of next year....

Don’t know about you, but I could go for a good ‘splode session right about now. According to the chaps at RPS, Twisted Pixel’sMs. Splosion Mancould very well make it onto Steam. Apparently, the game appeared in the Steam library of one of the site’s writers, complete with achievements and everything. Nintendo is pretty good about being a “family friendly” company, and it likes to promote a clean, vulgarity-free environment. As such, theNintendo 3DSwarns against using rude names or words in online portions of the game and has a filter to make sure its autocomplete doesn’t suggest naughty words. Naturally, I discovered a hole in Nintendo’s defenses within minutes. While trying to type “EKANS” as my status message, I stumbled upon “Ejaculation” — a word that has apparently escaped Nintendo’s filter....
