In news that could only be described as “f*cking obvious,” the official European version ofCall of Duty: Black Opshas been banned in Germany. Previously, aheavily edited versionwas created for the nanny state, which will be the only version Steam will authorize in the country. This basically means importing the PC version of the game will be next to impossible through Steam. Personally, I recommend you import a console version, and I really hope plenty of Germans do it as well, because the restrictions are ridiculous....

This weekend, in Akihabara’s event space, an event called Dengeki Game Festival 2011 took place.Dengeki, the fine publishers of several Japanese gaming magazines, hosted this event, and they invited the Japanese gaming public to attend. Held in Akiba’s Belle Salle event space, this event welcomed companies like Sega, Namco and Arc System Works among others to show off their latest games. Sony even had an entire floor to themselves at this event....

Starting from 5pm British Manchester Time, Destructoid.com and Sarcastic Gamer proudly presents SingSterling, a live SingStar marathon in the name of Extra Life, a charity raising money for pediatric cancer. I’ll be playingSingStarfor twelve hours, taking a break between each of our ten copies of the game. If, after twelve hours, I have raised $5000, I will then play foranothertwelve hours. Should you, the Destructoid community (and the gamer community at large) FAIL to meet my demands, the second half of the marathon will instead be spent havingfun....

Nintendo just launched websites dedicated to the two games which can be seenhereandhererespectively. Both sites are in Japanese, but theAsobu Made in Oresite (the second one) has video on it’s openingpage. TheMade in Orevideos can be found righthere. The videos are fun and all, but without context information they’re a bit misleading....

Holy induced motion sickness Batman! That was my first thought upon starting upthis 3D versionof the originalThe Legend of Zelda. Granted, it didn’t make me sick, only a little dizzy at points, but I know there are plenty of people out there that are more sensitive to first-person experiences like this. This project is currently a work in progress by TIGSource memberRadix. He only has the beginning of the first dungeon done so far, but hopes to eventually “remake the overworld and at least another dungeon or two if not the whole game....

The press release for Xbox Live Arcade went out a little early this week, so we now know thatCyberball 2072andFatal Fury Specialwill be released next Wednesday for 400 Microsoft Points each. Cyberball 2072is an old-school arcade football game, but with robots … and lots of ‘em. It looks like 2-player online co-op will be included, so it might be worth checking out for nostalgia purposes. Fatal Fury Special, the third title in the popular fighting game series, will also include an online component for its XBLA debut....

Shonen Jumphas published some new information on the upcoming DS follow-up,Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates.The first thing you’ll notice is an art style that is extremely similar to that found in the recent DS remake,Final Fantasy III....

The Japanese release ofFinal Fantasy XIIIis imminent, and so Square Enix has wrapped up its promotion for the game in the Eastern part of the world. It’s gone out with a bang, however, as Square Enix has revealed its “final” trailer, giving us a whopping five minutes of footage. Of course, as Square Enix finishes prepping the game for Japan, it must turn its gaze toward we lowly round eyes, so don’t expect the coverage to end any time soon....

You may remember the demo level of the 2DMirror’s EdgeFlash game from a while back; a single level was released back in November. Today, Brad Borne (the guy who makesFancy Pants Adventure) and EA have released thefinal version of the game. This Flash edition features 3 levels, time trial modes, and leaderboards, with future updates being promised as well. I remember liking the demo quite a bit, and I love Fancy Pants Adventure, so I’m pretty excited to spend some time with this....

I seriously don’t know where to begin with this one.Trip To Heavenis about a boy who dies after accidentally flipping a pencil into his own head. He then has to fly to Heaven, avoiding crows, demons and farting pig spirits. When you fail, God himself appears and makes fun of you. The gameplay could do with some major response fixing, but this is just such a deliciously stupid game that you really need to go check it out....

Earlierin the month, Xbox LIVE General Manager Marc Whitten announced that Microsoft would be giving a free XBLA game to make up for the horrible (and currently ongoing) issue with Xbox LIVE.
