Watch as we fall off the edge of our seats waiting in anticipation for Ubisoft to reveal more information on theHeroesgames, based on the NBC series, they announced in 2007. Well, it turns out they’re no longer happening, and we can give our butts a rest. According toMTV Multiplayer, Ubisoft has confirmed that the company is no longer publishing theHeroesvideogame. “The rights to the Heroes videogame have reverted back to NBC Universal,” Ubisoft’s public relations director Jaime Cottini told Multiplayer....

Ubisoft has revealed that its game based on the movie James Cameron’sAvataris getting its very own limited edition this holiday. The Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions will come with a 6-inch action figure of Jake Sully, the game’s lead, complete with detachable backback and rifle. A toy, not a real rifle. The Wii-inclined will get a 4-inch figure of the Na’vi Warrior Tsu’Tey. The Wii gets shafted again… by two inches....

Surprisingly, one of the more popular non-Japanese developed games at this year’s Tokyo Game Show was Ubisoft’sAssassin’s Creed. Lines for the Xbox 360 version of game (which sat behind the veil of a small booth) were in excess of 90 minutes, just to get some hands-on time with the two-week old build of the game. Set to ship in North America this holiday, we’re already head-over-heels for what has become one of our most anticipated games of 2007....

Australia is to remain the only developed nation in the worldwithout an 18+ age ratingafter proposals to lift the MA15+ cap have been soundly rejected by South Australian Attorney-General Michael Atkinson. Atkinson had agreed to debate the matter of an 18+ rating earlier this year, despite voicing strong misgivings against it. Australian Attorney-Generals opened discussion on this matter in March, but they have gone nowhere....

The greatest director ever, “Robocop” and “Starship Trooper’s” Paul Verhoeven, is set to direct a film based on a videogame property. Chatting with MTV, Verhoeven revealed a bit about this latest project, calling it a combination of “Indiana Jones”-style stuff and Hitchcock junk. He then went on to say that the 1914-situated movie “exists already” in the form of a videogame. Unfortunately, that’s where Verhoeven stopped, which left more than a few of us guessing as to what the game could be....
