Play as Jim Sterling in The Blocks Cometh

The Blocks Cometh, a really cool iOS game thatfeatures Mr. Destructoid, had its first full update today since launching, adding a wad of fresh content and four new playable characters. One of those characters, I am quite pleased to reveal, is … me. Starting today, I will be an unlockable character inThe Blocks Cometh. Unlocking me is quite simple and rather fitting — just hit the “Write a review” button on the character select page, and my muscular, well-toned body is yours to master....

Play H.A.W.X. the right way or suffer a forking

This is just one of those videos where saying anything at all will ruin what you’re about to see. The moral of the video: never invite people over that are really into volleyball into your home. And yes, this is an official ad for Ubisoft. They get paid to do this shit. I envy you so muchMega64.

Pokemon Black/White soundtrack: 4 hours, 170 songs

The Nintendo DS Pokemon Black/White Super Music Collection is what they’re calling the official soundtrack for the newly released (in Japan, anyway) Pokemon title, and it looks like it’s going to be a pretty affordable set for fans. You’re getting a lot of music for your 2,625 yen (about $32), which is not bad for an official OST. There will be about 4 hours of music in this 4 disc set, spanning a whopping 173 songs, saysKotaku....

Pre-order Turok and receive a shiny new demo disc

Have you ever wanted to cap a dinosaur in the ass? It’s an urge that can only be satisfied by playing videogames, unless you want to go the hardcore route. Of course, that involves slapping a dino costume onto one of your “buddies” and inflicting violence upon him. Alternatively, you could just get aTurokdemo disc by pre-ordering the game. The demo disc will be available at Best Buy, Walmart, GameStop, and Game Crazy....

Preview: Stoked

Look, I’ve never been one to snowboard. Snow is cold and wet and generally sucks in a major way, and sliding down a hill in the stuff isn’t my idea of a good time. However, I’ve pissed away hundreds of hours playing snowboarding games, from theSSXseries toCool Boarders. Unfortunately, the genre has been mostly dead for the last few years, excluding the recent (and unloved)Shaun White Snowboarding. Anyway, along comesStoked, Austrian-developer Bongfish’s Xbox 360 exclusive....

Random: Ref uses 360 controller to control replays

I dug this out from our “Late Night Sunday Post” file, but figured it was random enough to post. An ESPN viewer over atKotakuwas watching Mike Pereira, the NFL’s chief of officiating, on ESPN during Pereira’sweekly rundownof controversial plays, when he noticed that the man was controlling all his replays with a 360 controller. Now, it’s probably just a 360 controller for Windows as the producers most likely run the entire thing off a PC and that was the easiest way to control it all, but I like to think there is a bigger conspiracy here....

Respectfully not buying Resident Evil: The Mercs 3D

Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3Dis out in stores today and I was quite looking forward to buying it. My 3DS is finally getting some attention after a post-launch release drought and I was hoping to keep up the momentum started byOcarina of Time 3Dwith Capcom’s debut offering. However, the news that it will contain persistent save data that cannot be reset has caused me to rethink my purchasing decision. RetRose Tinted: The Chaos Engine

I’m a huge fan of is the steampunk genre of fiction. I love the fusion of clockwork-driven high-technology dirtying the skies of a more elegant and romantic era. The juxtaposition is beautiful. This brings me toThe Chaos Engine(known in the US asSoldiers of Fortune, but I’m going to keep calling itThe Chaos Enginebecause it’s a waaay cooler name). Not only does it feature a hyper-advanced, war-torn 19th century, it’s a cooperative and challenging game....
