TGS 09: Ceiling punching game requires whacking motions

I wasn’t about to play this strange ceiling punching game in public with all those people watching. Nihon Kogakuin College’s crazy game display at TGS drew a crowd, but almost no one from the crowd was willing to step forward and actually play the thing. I guess some of the problem lies in the required motion to play. I guess that the only way to remedy ninjas crawling in your attic is to put a punching game on the end of a long stick and then use that to hit the ceiling, effectively knocking them out....

The basics of Might & Magic: Clash of Heroes HD

Next week on Tuesday, a tear in the fabric of the space-time continuum will open in my apartment, instantly flinging me into the future with no awareness that any time has passed. The big bads of Silent Hill: Homecoming

This afternoon, I braved the foggy streets of New York City today, making my way down to the W Hotel on the 39th Street to attend Konami’s holiday media event. One of the games on hand was the final build of the Xbox 360 version ofSilent Hill: Homecoming, set to ship later this month. I spent about forty minutes with the game’s opening area, what essentially played out like a tutorial level in a worn down hospital....

The Cloud Strife syndrome: what makes an RPG matter?

Gather round, little bots. Tonight I have for you a little known tale about the wretched bucket of experiences people fondly refer to as childhood. Visualize with me, if you will a girl of about 10: short for her age, long mousy brown hair, wearing a ridiculous sleeveless Tour de France shirt, uniform regulation gym shorts and lavender oversized glasses. She’s sitting in front of the television playingPhantasy Star 2for the first time, totally fascinated and absorbed by the characters she’s just been introduced to....
