The newArmy of Two: The 40th DayDLC has been released early… on the Xbox 360. PlayStation 3 owners still have to wait until April 1 to get the new content. The original plan made it sound like the “Chapters of Deceit” DLC would be released on both consoles at the same time, but Electronic Arts dropped the new content today on the Xbox 360 with no real announcement besides this new trailer....
Final Fantasy XI’supcoming downloadable scenario ‘A Crystalline Prophecy — Ode of Life Bestowing’ has been priced and somewhat dated. The content will be available for purchase (through the PlayOnline Viewer) on March 23 for $9.99. However, you won’t be able to play with the new content until Square Enix rolls out a “version update” in early April. Don’t worry about paying early. Unlike some of the hookers I’ve met during my travels, Square Enixprobablywon’t cut and run after receiving payment....

LucasArts has started a stream of screens ofMonkey Island 2: LeChuck’s Revenge Special Edition. Every day, via theMonkey Island AdventuresFacebook page they’re going to give us one still from the original game and then, later, the updated version. They’re starting with environments, so you should pay particular attention to the background there, I guess. Me? I’m looking at Guybrush’s hair, which looks a whole lot better now. Huge improvement really....
The game isZangeki no Reginliev, the first M-rated title(or at least, the Japanese equivalent of that rating) to be published by Nintendo of Japan. It was developed by the creators of the Xbox 360 cult-classicEarth Defense Force2017, and features 4 player online co-op. It looks pretty fun. It’s a relief that the game isn’t on-rails as previously reported. The motion and pointer controls appear to be well implemented, and the violence looks to be constant and appropriately over-the-top....

Sounds like Nintendo intends on making a big splash at the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco. It’s just been revealed that company president Satoru Iwata will keynote the event, which is now in its 25th year. Iwata’s keynote will be entitled “Video Games Turn 25: A Historical Perspective and Vision for the Future.” What this means, of course, is that Iwata will talk about Nintendo’s vision for the future, so you can bet we’ll be there taking notes....
The great Wii sales rush has calmed down a little over the past year, leading some to (foolishly) declare that the Wii is in decline. Nintendo of America boss Reggie Fils-Aime believes, however, that now is the time for software to shine, claiming that true victory comes with great content. “You win with great content, and we’re fortunate to have franchises likeMario, likeZelda, likeDonkey Kong,” he states. “All of these great franchises really motivate consumers to buy the software, and what they’re looking for is an in-depth, great experience, and that’s what we offer....
