Nintendo has revealed a partnership with AT&T today that wlll offer free wireless hotspot access to 3DS users in North America. Starting in late May, over 10,000 hot spots will be made available in restaurants, bookstores, coffee shops, airports, and more. The Nintendo 3DS will automatically connect to these wireless spots, allowing users to receive Street Pass content, access the eShop, play Wi-Fi compatible games, and more. This is good news for folks wanting to watch the just-announcedNetflix streaming content online, or looking to downloadGame Geargames to their 3DS game while drinking a latte....
For aGuitar Herogame featuring a band as legendary as Van HalenGuitar Hero: Van Halenhas had surprisingly little hype — as in almost none. There’s been areveal trailerand some stuff with itat E3, but other than that it’s been all quiet on the rock n’ roll front. TheGodfather II: it seems like we know everything about it. We’ve hada couple ofgreat previews,a nice little interview, and we even know who plays the voice ofMichael Corleonein the game. And now we have some real release dates. EA sent along a press release that says that North America will getGodfather IIon April 7th, and Europe follows on April 10th. As you probably already know, this title is coming to the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC, and those that preorder will get an exclusive crew member, named Tommy Cipolla, to hire into their family....
We heard about one limited edition version ofGran Turismo 5at E3 a few weeks back. It’s a $99 bundle that comes with a book, DLC and even a miniatureNissan GT-R Spec V for your desktop. I was pretty set on picking that one up come November 2nd, but now I’m curious about this other version. Sony Computer Entertainment India’s Atindriya Bose may be talking about a bundle that’s specific to his country, but I don’t see why the world wouldn’t get this....
Now here’s something that makes me wish I were headed out to San Diego for Comic-Con this year… Electronic Arts a Vice are hosting the Brütal Legend Metal Meltdown Concert on July 23 in San Diego, just in time for Comic-Con. Performing will be GWAR, 3 Inches of Blood, and Unholy Pink, along with Keith Morris (of The Circle Jerks/Black Flag fame) will be rocking a DJ set. Uh, pretty metal, right?...

Developers make games for the fans — or at least they say they do. A lot of times I think it’s for the money, but in the case of Insomniac we’ll give them the benefit of the doubt. Since they make games because they want people to enjoy them when people don’t enjoy them it must bedepressing as all hell, especially when that game already has an established audience thanks to the fact that it is a sequel....
