Japanator’s December Contest: 30 days of giving

A lot of things come across my desk over at the Japanator office. Oftentimes, it’s kind of hard to do a review of a volume 8 of this series or DVD 13 of that one, simply because I don’t want to go and buy all the leadup volumes. So, we put them in a bin, saving them up for a contest at the end of the year. Now it’s time to unleash the box andgive away something every day....

Kane & Lynch 2 gets yet another trailer

I’ll say one thing for Square Enix and Eidos, they’ve not been shy on the trailer front. Here is another video forKane & Lynch 2: Dog Days, this one centered around Marcus Kane, the embittered ex-mercenary who decided to travel to Shanghai and work with schizophrenic maniac James Seth Lynch once again. As with allKane & Lynch 2videos, it’s suitably violent and thoroughly sleazy, which is good. The game’s out a little later this month and I’m really looking forward to it....

Madballs making their triumphant return to XBLA

What is this I don’t even … Madballs. Yes, we are talking about those obscure rubber balls with faces from the eighties. You remember, right? They had one guy that was a living baseball, a mummy, a swamp monster. They were ridiculous and failed to have the lasting appeal of Transformers and pretty much disappeared when the fad was over, yet here they are, resurrected for no good reasonand coming to XBLA this Summer....

Metal Gear Solid 4 ‘Revived’ trailer

If you don’t want even more revealed aboutMetal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, look away now. This is the latest trailer forMGS4and as usual, it does whatMGStrailers do best: Over-expose the game, take away big surprises … and yet strangely still make one ridiculously excited for the game.Lord knows what Kojima is cooking up with this one, but I’m down with it. This trailer brings a few new hops (chiefly the one that Cam Clarke may be able to do some role reprisal after all) but I’ll try not to get too excited for the possibilities....

Following the add-on characterSkarletis none other than Kenshi, who will be available for download inMortal Kombatsoon enough. Xbox Live gets the blind fighter on Tuesday, July 5, followed by PlayStation Network a day later. In this video, we’re given a quick runthrough of his moves. Sadly, the fatalities are cut a little short, but the fourth wall-breaking one is most excellent. Even though I have an uncanny love for Johnny Cage, I’ll never miss the opportunity to see him take a solid beating....
