Take everything you liked about the videogamePrince of Persia: The Sands of Timeand throw it out the window. The plot, the characters, the larger than life set pieces, the time-stopping/rewinding action — take all that and throw it away. Now, replace it with Jake Gyllenhaal, a bunch of other white people and an ostrich race. What do you think the outcome will be? I’m guessing most of you have determined how this review of the movie version ofPrince of Persia: The Sands of Timeis going to go....

This video has been dubbed “Most Wanted Racer.” Do you see what they did there? As with essentially every single prior piece of media forNeed for Speed: Hot Pursuit, we’re once again shown a police chase that ends with the cops getting foiled. I hope Criterion Games and/or EA start showing some of those community features that madeBurnout Paradisesuch a delight to play and replay. Capcom just released a few new trailers showing off characters from the upcoming DS titleOkamiden. The focus here is on some of the game’s characters who are returning from the originalOkami. In the video above, we have Sakuya, who in case you dodn’t know is “The spirit of the sacred tree, Konohana, and watches over Kamiki Village. She gives advice to Chibiterasu in an effort to save Nippon from the evil that has attacked the land once more....

LikedPersona 3? If so, I’d bet that this trailer forPersona 3 Portablewill get you really excited. Why? It looks like the best version ofPersona 3yet. An upgrade on a portable? It’s crazy, I know, but it definitely looks like an upgrade from where I’m sitting. In this Japanese trailer you’ll see some of the changes. Character interaction is shown with the new female protagonist. There’s new battle scenes and even a team attack for you to get googly eyes over....

The game looks to be another solid action RPG, which the little white box could always use more of. We also know it is being developed by Ganbarion, the makers ofJump Super Starson the DS, and will arrive on May 26. Soooo… wassup, Japan?...

While Sony and Microsoft are showing off their motion capture tech, Nintendo waves their hand dismissively, saying ‘been there, done that.’ Nintendo president Satoru Iwata toldFinancial Timesthat the camera-based motion capture tech was hoofy when compared to what they had going on with the accelerometers. Nintendo said that they tried expermential games using motion capture, but later passed on them in favor of what the Wii uses now. Iwata might look silly throwing this out if Natal or Sony’s glowing pleasure sticks come back to bite them in the ass....

While Electronic Arts and Visceral Games haven’t committed to a release date forDead Space 2, GameStop is pretty sure it won’t be next year. On top of the Deca Sports 3 reveal, Hudson has announced Oops! Prank Party for the Wii. The party game is a mixture of 100 puzzle-solving and reflex-testing style mini-games for up to four players. Losing in the game will see your custom created avatar be forced to wear embarrassing outfits. No price is announced but we can expect the latest Hudson party game to be out this Fall on the Wii....

So look — Telltale Games’Sam & Max Seasonsare consistently pretty awesome. And the forthcoming WiiWare title, the hilariously-namedStrong Bad’s Cool Game for Attractive Peopleepisodic series, definitely has our attention. But how about some original stuff? According to aconversation that Telltale CEO Dan Connors had with 1UP, it’s definitely in the works. “Right now, we’re still building the Telltale brand, and not having enormous marketing budgets to work with for an original title, we work with these franchises that are known, and that helps us build an audience for Telltale,” he says of working with existing franchises....
