I’ll look back at TGS 2011 and always remember three things: As Destructoid’s TGS team wraps up our show coverage today, we look back at the past week’s coverage to pick our favorite games of the show. Hamza, Allistair and I played a lot of new titles this week, but the games that follow are the ones that we’ll be looking forward to spending more time with....

In an article over atBusiness Week.com, Pandemic’s CEO, Andrew Goldman, reveals the company is developing a title for the Nintendo Wii. Kid-friendly, of course. Pandemic Studios, which plans to release a war game calledMercenaries 2: World in Flamesfor the PS3 and 360 in August, is quietly developing a concept title for the Wii that could attract younger players, says Chief Executive Andrew Goldman. “The problem with the game business a couple of years ago is it had just gotten stale....

According to a listing atEB Games’ website(aka, the word of God), the upcomingHigh School Musicaltitle for the PlayStation 2 and Nintendo Wii will ship with a microphone peripheral. While not much is known about how the game will play, one can be so bold as to guess that singing will somehow be involved. Rumors of a microphone peripheral coming to the Wii have been floating around for sometime, and it seems this Disney Interactive published title will be the first to ship with one....

There are very few games out there which are more addictive thanPeggle. It’s like the crack cocaine of videogames. And when you can get it for ten dollars, there’s really no excuse not to buy it. Which brings us to this moment, right now. Amazon has PopCap’s DS release of the ball-bouncing game at fifty percent off for today only. I love this game and frequently pop it in to my DS when I’m traveling....

Chattingwith Edge Onlineabout the current state of EA Sports, division president Peter Moore has voiced his concern with the company’s business model for the PC platform. “We really want to keep sports an important part of the portfolio that’s available to PC gamers,” he explained, but the process of shipping off physical discs for the PC “simply isn’t working.” Moore says he’s “got to find innovative ways to bring our content to life on the PC and online is the way that that’s going to happen....

I don’t know about the panty vending machines, but I love all of Japan’s other ones. My favorite hotel has beer vending machines in the hallway of every floor. How great is that? Two coins out of your pocket and a button press nets you a frosty cold can of Asahi to take back to your room. It’s like a dream that you may relive every time you pass a machine....

This week’s PlayStation Network update doesn’t provide much in the way of gameplay, but at least there’s plenty of eye candy to look at. Those a PlayStation Eye camera can enjoy eitherTori-EmakiorMesmerize: Tracefor $1.99. Nintendo has aProfessor Laytonthemed event planned for September 7th in San Francisco, giving fans a taste of the latest release in the franchise. Taking place at Union Square, Nintendo will have red British phone booths on the premises, and actors dressed like they came out of the game will offer up a puzzle to potential players. They’ll tally the guys’ and gals’ scores separately throughout the event in an attempt to see who is better at solving puzzles....

Epic Games and ChAIR’s swordfighting-centric action-RPG, previously known asProject Sword, is hitting iPhone and iPad later this holiday season asInfinity Blade. You might remember it as the visually impressive Unreal Engine 3 game that was shown at a fairly recent Apple event and also on those TV commercials. Some new details have come out today, including the aforementioned release window. No price yet, but we do know that free add-on content is going to be released post-launch, like a multiplayer mode that’s hooked into Game Center....

Last September, the off-road racerPUREhit the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC. I don’t know how many people played it, but I highly recommend. It was good. Like “really good” good. While the Xbox 360 version shipped with Achievements, the PS3 version was left with no Trophy support. That changes this week — Disney Interactive Studioshas announcedthat the game will get a Trophy update patch on Wednesday, May 6. That’s a full suite of more than 30 trophies, including Gold, Silver, and Bronze tiers, along with one Platinum Trophy....

When EA Sports president Peter Moorefirst told the worldofEA Sports Grand Slam Tennismore than a year ago, he noted that the Wii version would support Wii MotionPlus, and that it would launch before the PS3 and 360 iterations.Grand Slam Tenniscame out on the Wii in June, but we’ve seen neither hide nor hair of the HD game. It was originally set to launch this fall, but it was recently delayed because development resources were shifted to ensure that theEA Sports Activeexpansion pack,EA Sports Active: More Workouts, is out by this holiday season....
