The Wii may have won the battle, but it looks like it wasn’t the first console to come to mind when Suda 51 was looking for a home in which to houseNo More Heroes. Quoted from an interview in MCV’smagazineis this juicy morsel that will give ammo to those of you who have said all along that the 360’s fanbase is better suited for this type of game: “Originally, I’d wanted to make this game for Xbox 360, actually....

Nobilis reveals Music for the Nintendo DS

While I am more or less assured that the only people who will think this is remotely cool are Dale North and I, but I can’t help but post about it anyway: I have such a soft spot for strangely nerdy DS titles.Musiccertainly fits that description, an upcoming game from Nobilis that teaches basic musical theory in 21 lessons. The game also features tests and quizzes and will feature the music of such major composers as Mozart and Vivaldi....

Omega Force: Dynasty Warriors can’t change too much

Dynasty Warriorsis truly a strange duck. In Japan, the franchise is a major system seller and one of the hottest properties around. In the West, many view it as a joke. I asked lead producer Akihiro Suzuki why he thinks there’s such a strong divide between East and West. “Yeah, there is a difference in the popularity of the series in Japan and over there in the West,” he admitted. “I think that this is down to two main reasons....

Preview: Hammerin’ Hero

I almost bought the Japanese version ofHammerin’ Heroon sight, there calledIkuze! Gen-San: Yuuyake Daiku Monogatari. Irem’s side-scrolling over-the-top beat-’em-up definite visual appeal, and there’s an insane story line and characters to go along with it. And who wouldn’t want to play a whacked-out platformer where you play as a righteous carpenter that’s not afraid to smash in heads wtih a giant wooden hammer? Before I could place my order, Atlus was kind enough to send along an early copy of the Western version, renamedHammerin’ Hero....

Ratings board says Fruit Ninja is coming to Kinect

Do ratings boards just not care about leaking unannounced games, or what? Siliconera recently spotted a rating forFruit Ninja Kinecton Korea’s Game Rating Board. That’s about it, really. Themobile versionwas a runaway success, so it’d make sense that Halfbrick would want to continue bringingFruit Ninjato further platforms. I could see it being a great fit for Kinect as well, which is always a plus. At this point, it’s nice to see developers acknowledging the device, period — even if it is indirectly....

Reminder: Xbox 360 dashboard update is now available

As promised, Microsoft have delivered the new Xbox 360 dashboard update today. I turned on my console first thing this morning, and after signing in to Xbox Live, was prompted to update. Like previous updates, this was extremely quick and painless. So far, I’m digging the new streamlined interface of the dashboard, although the changes (after playing with it for five minutes) don’t seem that drastic. Of course, there’s thenew stalker functionality, which I have to admit, I used once just to see how it worked....

RetroforceGO! Episode 27: Super Nintendo FTW!

I can honestly say, ladies and gentleman, that the response toyesterday’s postthat Topher made about this week’s show was surprising. I knew that a lot of you listened to the show, but to see a total of 82 responses to a post about a show that has yet to even air, certainly impressed the hell out of us. Then again, the subject of the show may have had a lot to do with it … nah, it was because you love us so much, isn’t it?...
