A farm of about 200 PlayStation 3s were used to by researchers to launch a nearly undetectable phishing attack, saysNetworkWorld. Their goal was to exploit a bug in the Web site security certificates you use daily on the internet. The researchers were able to hack into Verisign’s RapidSSL.com certificate authority and create fake digital certificates for any Web site on the Internet. The PS3 farm spits out fake certificates that would be trusted by any browser....
2K Games has failed one of the cardinal rules of the Internet — make sure you stop people taking your stuff. So it is that the publisher has been unable to wrestle the BioShock.com URL from a cyber squatting firm. Name Administration Media snagged the URL back before the game was officially announced, but after 2K Games had filed a trademark for it. NA Media won the fight to keep the domain after stating that the BioShock name could reference other things, such as a currently existing cosmetic lineup from Johnson & Johnson, and that 2K wasn’t associated with theBioShockname, officially, before it was announced....
“Chip Tuned Rockman” is an upcoming album full of chiptuned remixes ofMega Manfrom variousMega Mangames. The album will contain 20 tracks and each track is arranged by different artists from around the world. The album will also come with a booklet that has interviews with ten of the artists plus a comic illustrated by Hitoshi Ariga. The album will go on sale on October 15, but anyone attending the Tokyo Game Show next week can score themselves an advance copy....

What they’re offering today is a selection of games rated “four stars” — about as high as anything can score where their ratings are concerned — priced at under twenty dollars. So you know how, to us, the Wii seems like the simplest console ever made? Realtime Worlds is working on a second MMO and according to the studios’ brass, it will be revealed at some point next year. Speaking at the GameHorizon conferenece, Realtime Worlds CEO Dave Jones teased listeners about the second MMO. He said (viaGI.biz) that the unannounced MMO was a “very ambitious project” and said Realtime Worlds is enthusiastic about it. Realtime Worlds is currently deep in development onAll Points Bulletin, a violent crime MMO set to hit PC in the first quarter of next year....
No need to stand while playingSuper Street Fighter IV. According toSFIVproducer Yoshinori Ono, the title will be a couch-constricted affair.
