Age of Booty PS3 gets delayed

The PlayStation 3 version ofAge of Bootywill not be hitting the PlayStation Store as scheduled. Prospective buyers may have noticed this fact, considering it was supposed to come out yesterday. The reason for the delay is quite simple. According toCapcom’s community blog, the game needs a bit more sprucing up. From the blog post: We want to ensure the online experience for PSN users is as smooth, fun, and addicting. We also want to ensure all those who dive into the map editor and generate new content for the Age of Booty community have a great time sharing their maps with friends....

Alternate threads in Capcom’s We Love Golf make for some DIY cameos

If Capcom’s upcoming Wii titleWe Love Golfslipped under your radar (which is inherently easy for a golf game to do, even if it is developed by Camelot), here’s something that might actually pique your interest. As you progress through the game, new costumes become available which, if you’re using the right character, will let you hit the links as Chun-Li, Arthur fromGhouls ‘n Ghosts, or Jill Valentine, among others. It’s more of a virtual cosplay sort of thing than it is actual character cameos, but it’s still pretty damn cool....

APB lead character artist launches new start-up

Raise your hand if you found the best part of Realtime World’s now-deceasedAPBto be the character creator. Yeah, thought so. Lead character artist Jimmy O’Ready, who has previously worked on games likeSSX(Can you see the similarities now?), was met with similar praise. He’s recently opened Montynero Characters and Montynero Concept Art, which are based out of Dundee. With any luck, he can help other studios execute a similar style with their games, and perhaps the arguably best component ofAPBcan live on through future titles....

APB will have in-game audio ads

I don’t listen to the radio because I hate being sold stuff. I hate the guy that does the fast disclaimer at the end of the radio commercial too. I want nothing to do with any of that. Besides, all the cheesy love ballads of the late 1980s and early 1990s have gone away. Why isn’t there more Billy Ocean songs? If you play MMO All Points Bulletin you’ll be hit with some radio ads....

Apple’s iPhone has over 6,000 games now

It’s actually6,276, according toanalytics firm Mobclix. They say that1,516 of the available games for the Jesus Phone are actually free. I say that none of those free games are any good. Having over 6,000 games doesn’t mean much when most of them are crap. We know: we’ve looked atmanyof them. I think it’s a case of quantity over quality right now, unfortunately. That’s not to say that all of them are crap; we’ve playeda few great ones, too....

Are the Bit.Trip guys suing the hell out of Anthony?

I probably shouldn’t be writing this, as it may not be good for my friend and coworker Anthony Burch, but he’s on his way to GDC and I can’t get a hold of him. There is the chance that posting this will somehow negatively effect hisongoing lawsuit against Gaijin Games, the creators ofBit.Trip RUNNER, but I can’t risk not getting this info to him ASAP. If someone reading this can tell him to read the site as soon as possible, thank you in advance....

Unless you count theAtari 2600’s recent induction into the National Toy Hall of Fame, things haven’t been great for Atari lately. Now, CEO David Pierce has resigned, and now Atari is officially exiting the game production business. Next-gen says thatAtariwill now focus on North American game publishing and distribution, completely withdrawing from production....

Bach dumps stock as 360 problems mount; 1987 called and wants its scandals back

In a move reminiscent of Gordon Gekko and all the real life cokefiends he was inspired by, it has beenrevealedthat Microsoft exec Robbie Bach sold off $6.2 million worth of Microsoft stock during a time period in which things were not looking so hot for the 360, mainly based on how often things would look hotinsideof the 360. Bach, president of the Entertainment and Devices unit within the megacorp, had this to say regarding his seemingly nefarious,Sterner-ianasset shuffling:...

Bargain Bin Laden #2: Sky Odyssey

Pilotwings has been painfully absent from our hearts and minds for more than ten years. The last we saw the series wasPilotwings 64, a launch title that was sadly overshadowed by the irrefutable success of Super Mario’s ascent into the third dimension. I got both on launch, and thoughMario 64held first place in my heart for years thereafter, I invested an absurd amount of time intoPilotwings 64long after Mario had been bested....

Bionic Commando and Arthur Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 vids

We just got the news thatM.O.D.O.K., Magneto,Nathan Spencer, and Arthurwill be playable characters inMarvel Vs. Capcom 3. We’ll probably have to wait until tomorrow to get a look at those Marvel-side bad guys in action, but we don’t have to wait to see Arthur and his Bionic Capcom brethren in motion. These two videos show just how badass the NES veterans look in this current-gen fighter. Arthur doesn’t disappoint. He’s got the fragile armor and boxer shorts from his initial appearance inGhosts and Goblins, and double jump and increased arsenal from later games likeSuper Ghouls and Ghosts....

Blue Oyster Cult makes awesome Warhammer Online song

Here’s a big glass of WTF for your Friday — EA Mythic and Blue Oyster Cult have teamed up to create a musical tribute to the “Dwarf Slayer” profession inWarhammer Onlinewitha song titled “Kiss My Axe (While I Drink My Beer)”. I didn’t even know that members of Blue Oyster Cult were still alive, let alone still making music, but apparently the lead singer of the band, Eric Bloom, is a huge fan of video games and science fiction and fantasy novels, and is an activeWarhammer Onlineplayer....
