Last week, Disney had a private behind-closed-doors peek at the trailer for the upcomingPrince of Persia: The Sands of Timefilm. But we weren’t allowed toshowit to you…so we used words. It’s better than nothing, but I think it illustrates a very important point — this moviemightnot be completely crap....
So have you got Teh Haloes? Yes, no? I haven’t. Even though I’ve yet to hear a recommendation against it; even though it is, by all accounts a solid game, and by some accounts, a revolutionary game. In a sea of generic first person shooters, endless sequels and RPGs that make you wince with their cliches, a game likeHotel Dusksticks way out. I remember feeling very much the same way discoveringIcoandOkamifor the first time. The developers took a lot of chances with the style and format of these games, and often they were noticed for their bravery by gamers looking for something more than just the norm, not to mention the reaction of the industry....
Prepare to have your head asploded. I Wanna Be The Guyis a game like nothing you’ve ever played before. The game follows the quest of The Kid as he tries to become The Guy. He battles through insane modded levels fromMega Man,Zelda,Metroid,Ghosts N Goblinsto many more. The boss fights are something else too. From Dracula, Mecha Birdo, Giant Mike Tyson, Bowser/Wart/Dr. Wily Clown Car combo to my personal favorite, a giant green Zangief/Kraid hybrid that shoots Hadoukens out of his mouth and Blankas out of his crotch are among some of the epic boss fights....
I know what you’re thinking:Ugh, another Call of Duty.I’m not quite with you, but I do get it. Thankfully, what I saw of Treyarch’s latest,Call of Duty: Black Ops, looks absolutely fantastic. More importantly, it looks to be different enough to actually stand out among all the other CoD titles. No, really. These impressions come from a session that was hands-off, mind you. But know that we did see quite a bit of game play, and our impressions will beat the hell out of watching a short teaser trailer andtrying to pause the video to see all the details....
ThehugelypopularDragon Quest IXis only a month away from release here in the United States, which means it’s probably time for you to start thinking about whether or not you will purchase it. Above is a trailer designed with the sole intent of enticing you towards the affirmative. Who amongst you are looking forward to this? I’ll admit that the multiplayer focus intrigues me, particularly that it’s local. I just so rarely have multiple people with DS systems right next to me that I fear I’d never get to experience it for myself in considerable measure....

This coming from TIME’s reveal of “The World’s Most Influential People of 2009” asvoted by the Internet. It is, of course, completely accurate. Lil’ Wayne ranks among the top 100, sitting pretty at number 12; Miyamoto breaks the top 100 at 42, with Wright failing to make the cut at 107....

This summer Ignition Entertainment will release the Zombie Studios-developedBlacklight: Tango Downon Xbox LIVE Arcade, PlayStation Network, and PC digital distribution. WithBlacklight, Zombie hopes to push the bar for quality standards for downloaded titles, calling it “one of the most advanced games ever released solely through downloadable channels.” Using the Unreal Engine 3.0 and packed with deep multiplayer features you’d expect from a full retail title, it certainly seems like the Seattle, Washington-based developer is on the right track....
