Atari might not be the most critically or financially successful company in the industry (to put it politely) but the publisher still has a few tricks in its magic bag. With franchises likeBaldur’s Gate,Dungeons & Dragons,Test Drive UnlimitedandNeverwinter Nights, there is some considerable intellectual property under the belt. In fact, Atari islooking at revisitingall of these franchises in the future, which is bound to be great news for some. Unfortunately, none of these revivals seem likely within the next twelve months....

Those dicktits at the Unterhaltungssoftware Selbstkontrolle have rated a heavily censored version ofBulletstorm, a variant that more or less loses the entire point of the game. The German edition will not feature ragdoll effects, blood spatters, or dismemberment of any kind. A moron who launched a denial-of-service attack onCall of Duty: Black Opsplayers has found himself in jail on charges of being a little prick. The 17-year-old from Manchester, England used a “Phenom Booter” program to stop other people from playing the game, which allowed him to rake in ill-gotten points at their expense. Unfortunately for him, nobody screws with Activision, and detectives soon traced the script kiddie’s IP address and systematically tracked him down....

As a result of a videogame retail job I once had, I somehow ended up with four or five N-Gage units, in addition to a number of memorable titles, likeAshenandThe Sims: Bustin’ Out.
