Boom Blox on other formats not out of the question

Surprisingly enough,Boom Bloxis one of my favorite Wii-exclusive games. There’s something about destroying towers and making baby gorillas cry that appeals to me. Although the series is strongly geared towards fully utilizing the Wii remote, I know I’ve thought about what the games could be like on other consoles before. And it seems I’m not the only one to daydream about such a thing.VideoGamer caught upwith EA Bright Light studio head Harvey Elliott recently, and he told the site “I wouldn’t rule anything out....

Capcom to ‘take you for a ride’ at E3, lineup announced

We knew that Capcom’s E3 line-up was coming this morning, and we’ve been waiting for it with baited breath. Why? Well, it’s not because we wanted to see what is on the list. We already knew what was coming. It’s more that the week before E3 is pretty dead as far as exciting game news goes (other than leaks), so we’re stuck with this leading-up-to style of news posts until then....

CES 2010: Peregrine glove still excites me, coming Q1

We first saw the Peregrine glove back at E3. If you’ll recall, the wearable human interface device allows users to execute commands by connecting leads all along the fingers and palm. You can program the glove with up to 30 keystrokes and it has all sorts of applications for gaming and beyond. I’m looking forward to being able to bring up internet porn by putting my fingers together in the universal sign for “OK” and possibly finding some other, less practical use....

Codemasters dishes out the eye candy with GRID

There’s nothing I’d rather see appear in a game trailer more than the words “actual gameplay footage.” Generally speaking, this short disclaimer means that what you’re about to witness is visually stunning, leaving you to worry about the controls and gameplay itself instead of having your inner graphics whore take over.DiRTwas the last racing game to come out of Codemasters, and its incredible in-game cameras and graphical flair were as impressive to me back then as the above footage forGRIDis to me now....

Comic-Con 08: Dexter to be iPhone and iPod exclusive

While we still don’t know how the game will operate, it has recently been confirmed byIGNthat it will be episodic in nature, and only offered on the iPhone and iPod Touch. The announcement came from an event at Comic-Con surrounding the Showtime series. There’s something about Marc Ecko and a sociopathic blood spatter analyst that doesn’t quite mix....

I’ve done the numbers, and statistically speaking more of you reading this article will have not attended PAX this year than will have. This week’s Comments of the Week is dedicated to you guys. Deal with it: Halo film ‘entirely dead’

With the massive success of theHalofranchise (and the record-breaking sales of Halo 3), it would seem like a no-brainer to cash-in with a major motion picture. Don’t hold your breath, says director Neill Blomkamp, once tapped to helm the project. “Whatever happens with that movie, assuming that movie gets made,” Blomkamp tellsCreativity Online, “will be a totally different configuration. It’s not so much me as the entire vessel sank.” The film, a partnership between Universal and Fox, was ultimately killed by disagreements between the studios....
