I don’t know what’s going on in that video, and frankly I don’t need to know. I am far too ensorcled by the saccharine whimsy contained in these precious few minutes to care. What I do know is thatDewy’s Adventureis the kind of fun, kid-friendly game that is going to give the Wii a real boost in terms of software. Even if it sucks, it won’t matter, because that’s the kind of cuteness you could bottle and sell to even the nazis....

Dynasty Warriors 7released in Japan today and Koei Tecmo has wastedzerotime in throwing up the downloadable content. Most of it is free, but there is one paid set that pisses me off. The free stuff is a range of costumes from previousDynasty Warriorsgames, so if you don’t like the new designs, you can swap them out. Today, players can grab outfits fromDynasty Warriors 6, with costumes fromDynasty Warriors 5expected next. On March 17, you can also download new background music from past games, starting again withDW6....

We saw some footage fromFinal Fantasy XIIIfrom Microsoft’s press conferencethis morning, and I have to say it was great to finally see it in action on the 360 (not to mention in English!). We have some video for you of what we saw, and now you can watch it too and form your own opinions, although be warned that if you’ve seen or played the Japanese demo none of this will be new territory....

Straight from the bowels of Microsoft’s Press Conference comes the titleJoyride.The game is a free-to-download title for XBLA that will put your avatars in the middle of the action, featuring them as the main racers of this trick-racing game. The game will be free to play with your friends, and the game operates on a micropayment system, where you can spend money to buy more cars and tracks and all the like....

As part of their press conference this morning, Nintendo revealed what appears to be a remake ofMetal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, originally for the PlayStation 2. Bearing an almost identical title,Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D, the game will be coming to their new 3DS handheld at some point in the future. Like a lot of the 3DS games announced so far, no specifics were given, not even a general release window....

The price is high with EA’s“Star Wars” MMO, and like with most Western MMOs, the cost of development will presumably continue to rise before its 2011 release. The cold, hard business of the matter is that EA will look for a certain amount of loyalists to offset the cost. One analyst, Sterne Agee’s Arvind Bhatia, believes that 1 million is that number.

EA has partnered up with Hasbro to bring the Hasbro board and toy line to videogame consoles. One of the major deals from this partnership is seeing the ever popularMonopolygame come to the Wii, PS2, and Xbox 360 this October. The classicMonopolyyou all know and love will of course remain intact along with additional boards and themes to help spice things up. Brand new boards will include a futuristic board, cardboard board, jungle board, cheese board and more....

It’s no secret that third party developers have been slow to embrace the PSP, leading to the dearth of games available on Sony’s barren handheld system. According to a former SCEE Technology Group employee, the platform holder itselfcould be doing a lot moreto make the PSP an attractive proposition, especially in Europe. “There’s always room for improvement in everything, but if you look at third party relations in the US, they’re a little more integrated than in Europe,” explains Sebastien Rubens....

Club Nintendo has finally updated with some significant content for its Platinum and Gold Members who reached the status by the end of June. For Platinum members is an exclusive WiiWare title, “Little Mac vs. Doc Louis!!”, a one-on-one bout between the trainer and the tiny but feistyPunch-Out!!champ. The title is exclusive to Club Nintendo, and as Nintendo puts it the “gift will not be available anywhere else.” Alternately, Platinum members have the choice to pick up a replica of Mario’s cap, which is not as cool as the WiiWare game because it’s a hat that if you’d be ridiculed for wearing out in public....

Quasi-controversial girl-feeding strategy gameFat Princesswas supposed to be arriving this month, but unfortunatelyit has been revealedthat the PSN title will be delayed until later in the summer. Talk ofFat Princesshad gone rather quiet ever since the beta was launched, and its June release would have left only next Thursday as the release date. “Fat Princesswill have a global release date,” states Sony Europe man Mike Kebby. “but I can confirm for you it will not be next week I’m afraid....

Mass Effect,the controversiallesbian orgy simulation with some minor space shooting action, will be getting some fresh new content on March 10th. The “Bring Down the Sky” DLC will run for 400 MS points (which is $40 inNick Chester currency) and offer 90 minutes of new story. The new story introduces a new alien race called the Batarians whom have hijacked an asteroid station that has been set on a collision course onto the planet Terra Nova....

You already knew that theMonster Hunterseries is big in Japan, but now it’s the biggest as far as the PSP is concerned. Capcom has announced thatMonster Hunter Freedom Unite(orMonster Hunter Portable 2nd G) has hit the 3.5 million sold mark in Japan, making it the only PSP game to hit that sales mark. The game originally hit the Japanese stores last year to see huge sales, but has since gone on to be repacked as one of their “PSP the Best” games, adding another 1 million to last year’s totals....

There are few games coming out this year that I am more excited for than I am forFragile: Farewell Ruins of the Moon. European gamers will be delighted to hear that it’s now coming their way too, as it was officially announced this morning thatRising Star Gameswill publish it in that territory. If they sound familiar to you, that’s because they are also publishingLittle King’s StoryandJu-On: The Grudgefor the UK, two other games that I also want pretty darn badly....
