FUEL continues to look absurd in this latest video

I honestly don’t know what to think aboutFUEL. Sure, it’s coming from Codemasters, and as far as I can tell the game looks to be ridiculous inthe best possible way, but I have been fooled so many times before by all-too-convincing trailers. Today’s video finally hones in on some of the event types present inFUEL, many of which are the standard “go through checkpoints,” or “race against the clock.” But there are a few interesting ones, like “Seek and Destroy,” which pits you against designated driversBurnout-style, and “Chopper Chase,” where you attempt to keep up with a helicopter, for some bizarre reason....

Garry’s Mod is cheap, now ready for Mac users

A world of previously unseen, weirdly physics-based nightmares now await Mac owners. That’s right, the one and onlyGarry’s Modsupports Steam for Mac. As an added bonus, if you own the PC version, you won’t have to pay a second time. And if you’re totally new to the, uh, “game,” it’s temporarily down to $4.99. If nothing else, writing aboutGarry’s Modhas always been entertaining. The images that often turn up in mandatory searches — hey, got to have a picture with your story — range from juvenile to disturbing to hardcore (as in the bad, cannot be unseenkind)....

GC 10: That’s all folks

For us here at Destructoid, day four of gamescom is our last official day on the show floor as I have decided to reward my boys with some rest. Lucky sods. Today Ian Roberts and I attacked gamescom so the daily wrap up is missing its rather large dose of indie loveliness, known as Daniel Carneiro. I keep the wrap up sort and sweet, since the burning German sun if affecting my pale British skin....

GDC 2007: Mark Rein and Unreal Engine 3

I just got back from a short private briefing with Epic’s Mark Rein detailing the ins and outs of Unreal Engine 3. Ghostbusters video informs us not to look directly into the trap

News flash: Terminal Reality is currently polishing aGhostbustersvideogame adaptation for the PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. If you find your mouth agape, congratulations! That means at some point during the last eight months you went outside among the dangers of the digital-less world. Flowers and birds are sweet, aren’t they? Be weary of cars (those shiny, loud things that move fast) as they aren’t prone to not stopping if you don’t follow those pretty white lines called a “crosswalk....

Guitar Hero iPhone getting Weezer, Coldplay, and more

If you bought the rather goodGuitar Heroappfor your iPhone, you might be a little dismayed at the less-than-abundant support that Activision’s put behind it. Well, feel free to be a little cheered by a new set of track packs that are now available for download. Coldplay, Weezer, Breaking Benjamin and Rise Against song packs are all available for $1.99 apiece. I must say that I’ve been rather disappointed by the lack of choices available in this game....

Halo 3: Recon probably won’t be $60

Afew scant detailshave surfaced regardingHalo 3: Recon, the expansion pack to 2007’s Xbox 360 blockbuster. Described as a “three-to-five hour expansion pack,” the most amazing news is that this small gameprobablywon’t cost sixty bucks! Bungie doesn’t seem to think that a short expansion pack is worth that much money. Of course, what Bungie thinks and what Microsoft wants to do are two separate entities entirely, so we’ll have to see on that count....

Hands on: Resident Evil 4 Wii Edition

Capcom made it very clear that they are the company to watch this millennium. They even scorned the rest of the industry for not taking chances and simply relying on sequels to keep the money rolling in. It’s extremely ironic then, that the entire show was built out of Capcom sequels and spin-offs, includingMegamangames that don’t even have freaking Megaman in them. So while they certainly talked the talk, they don’t quite have the walking part down yet....
