Parasite Eve 1 and 2 coming to PSN?

This is great! I was just having a nerd discussion the other day with friends on how we wouldsooo “do”Aya fromParasite Eve.Who knows. Maybe whoever is in charge of re-releasing PS1 games on the PS3/PSP as Game Archive titles would sooo do her too. Maybe that’s why there’s a rumored release ofParasite Eveon the PlayStation Store. Before we play Hot or Not with female game leads, know that creative producer Tetsuya Nomura has been pushing for its re-release....

Penny Arcade’s Prince of Persia comic launches today, a total tease

An onlinePrince of Persiacomic, drawn by the good folks over at Penny Arcade, has gone live today. The Web-based, 32-page comic book will be updated with new pages daily, leading up to the game’s December 2 release. At it stands now, there’s not much there but the cover and a single page of story. Quite the tease. It does hint at what’s in store, detailing the backstory of the game’s princess and sidekick, Elika....

PlayStation Network Update: double bogey edition

As promised, Sony delivers two new characters forHot Shots Golf: Out of Boundsin this week’s PlayStation Network update. I’m happy to report that neither one of these characters say or do stupid things like many of theother onesdo. Unfortunately I’m still spending just as much time in the bunkers. Gloria and Alex were still worth the $.99 a piece that I paid for them. Other add-on content for this week includes a 27mb download ofRocketmen: It Came From Uranus!...

Preview: Blur multiplayer with Todd the elevator guy

Last week, we attended an Activision event to check out some new games, and it was there that we met up with the folks from Bizarre Creations, just in from the UK. They were in attendance looking to show offBlur‘s local multiplayer action. Bizarre’s Ami Langton had a private suite set up in a Seattle hotel to give us a look at the four-player split screen multiplayer mode of their upcoming racer, so I grabbed our own Nick Chester and Colette Bennett to join in the fun....

Retailer lists Pikmin 3DS game (update)

We’ve waited roughly eight thousand years for more news on the fabledPikmin 3, but if a retailer’s mysterious listing is to be believed, we may be getting a different flavor of miniature mayhem, with a 3DS version of the critically beloved game. Online UK retailer The Hutlists Pikmin 3DS for an already reduced price of £34.93. Whether this is an all-new game or a remake remains to be seen. Hell, we don’t even know if this actually exists, so maybe we shouldn’t be speculating as to the form it’ll take just yet....

RetroforceGO!: Episode 21: Video game music

Normally, this would be the place where I would make some sort of jovial paragraph, or make up some incredibly false, but equally jovial little story. Well, the unfortunate news of the day is that I’m fresh out of jovial. It would seem that corner store by my house that sells everything from batteries to Mogwais has, for the first time ever — run out of jovial. Alarming, I know, but occasionally these things do happen....

Rumortoid: Is Kid Icarus making a comeback on the Wii?

When Factor 5’s presidentconfirmedto IGN the other week that they were reuniting with Nintendo at least long enough to produce a non-Virtual Console title, more than a few ears perked up. Although quizzed up and down for more juicy details, Julian Eggebrecht was tight-lipped. Guess that was sort of expected… just enough to get us interested and wanting more. What would the mystery title be? According to gaming siteKombo, who credits “a reliable source,” the title in question is none other than aKid Icarusgame for the Wii — and get this, built from the ground up, specically for it....

Rumortoid: Xbox Live Arcade snubbing indie developers?

Arguably the two best Xbox Live Arcade games to ever hit the system areCastle CrashersandBraid, two independent games. Ifrumors are to be believed, Microsoft has become quick to forget such things, as the platform holder is planning to “dramatically reduce” the amount of indie games to hit the service. The gossip stems from the idea that Microsoft is worried about too much software cluttering up XBLA, and it’s being reported that a number of major publishers have put pressure on MS to reduce the amount of competition for their own games, shutting out indie devs so that stuff likeBliss Islandhas a better chance to flourish....
