For the love of God … Square “eyes bigger than its belly” Enix has revealed in the latestFamitsuthat it currently has five unannounced games in development. Considering it has about ten billionannouncedgames in development, one wonders if the Japanese company will ever think it’s got enough on its plate. We don’t know what the games are because — duh — they’re unannounced, but you can probably rest assured that there’s someFinal FantasyandDragon Questin there....

I’m always happy when game music gets some US lovin’, and today Square Enix is treating with an early release of the remix album Love SQ. Really slick arrangements of twelve great songs from games likeCrono Trigger, Final Fantasy, and Romancing SaGa, andLegend of Manaare on Love SQ. Each song blends old 8-bit chippy sounds with modern day beats and samples, making for an interesting listen. I love De De Mouse’s arrangement of “Eternal Wind,” and the treatment of “Frog’s Theme” is a crowd-pleaser, coming complete with 16-bit croak samples....

If you’re still bummed that EAtaunted youabout being in the beta, then maybe you can gorge yourself on some of the universe’s lore to make things better. The officialStar Wars: The Old Republicsite has been updated today with a fancy newGalaxy Map, allowing you to explore the various planet and ships that will be in the upcoming MMO. It’s somewhat reminiscent ofMass Effect 2‘s planet scanning mini-game, except that it isn’t excruciatingly slow and now one is forcing it on you....

As someone who once dreamed of becoming a professional athlete, I find the above trailer forTecmo Bowl: Kickoffhighly depressing, though I suppose it’s an interesting marketing tactic for the game. The trailer starts out by proclaiming, “You’re never going to throw like this, you’re never going to catch like this, and you’re never going to score the winning touchdown.” I think I might have cried if I had seen this at, say, age 6....

In myprevious post, I briefly touched on my frustration with Capcom’s upcomingMega Man Universe, however it would seem many of you — myself included — wanted a bit more. To be honest, I originally felt that what little footage you may have seen would really speak for itself, but I get that it would probably help if I really explained my own experience and reasoning. Dale North, Tim Sheehy, and myself just hit the Tokyo Game Show floor. It’s insane. Imagine E3, but concentrated into a constant blast of stimulation. Every five seconds, you see another new game, another scantly clad woman, or another jaw dropping surprise.

Mistwalker’sHironobu Sakaguchi has recently teased a couple of projects. One in particular was touted as a“blockbuster” project. He said that he and his team put his all into this. We were interested then, and now we know the name of this blockbuster. The new game is a Wii title calledThe Last Story. Not the most inspired name, and it kind of reminds me of Final Fantasy. The Last Storyis a role-playing game with a 2010 release date....

The EA Sports Complex is now available insidePlayStation Home. It’s a space where you and your buddies can kick back and virtually relax while being exposed to all sorts of absolutely wonderful EA Sports content like trailers and videos for upcoming and already available games. Oh — you can also play Texas Hold ‘Em Poker in there. Yep, the sports complex has debuted with a “tournament-style” poker game (with updates like bracelets and leaderboards coming in the future....

As of last night, I was seriously doubting the Internet would be able to collectively come together in perfect harmony; I’m absolutely delighted to be wrong. What does this mean for you? Two things.
