OH YEEEEAH SON, THE XTIVAL! YEEEEAH!YEEEEEEAAAAAH! Except of course, Xtival is rubbish every single year, which is what I am sure we will say when The Podcastle records tomorrow. We shall indeed talk about Xbox Live’s European Xtival, which is supposed to be some massive event but nearly always boils down to a free, slightly crap Xbox theme. We’ll also find some other garbage to talk about, I’m sure. As ever, we need your questions and comments because it saves us filling the last half hour of the show ourselves....

Hot on the heels of the film’s release,Watchmenis being LittleBigPlanet-ized. This morning developer Media Molecule revealed the downloadable kit via itsofficial blog. Set to debut this Thursday, the pack features a set ofWatchmen-themed costumes, as well as a few stickers. Among the new stuff to be made available, players will be able to turn their Sackboys into sociopaths and moral absolutists with the colorful Rorschach costume. Morphing inkblot is unconfirmed, but the cute Nite Owl costume (or one of the two others) should make up for the slight....

The creatures in theSilent Hillseries seem perfectly suited to being represented in sculpture. So why is it that it has taken so long for someone to produce and market such a thing? No, better not to question it. As our sister blogTomopopreports, Trims Japan has stepped up to the plate and is producing two solid resin statues of Valtiel (above) andPyramid Head. They look like gorgeous pieces but beauty comes at a significant cost, with Valtiel running ¥27,000 and Pyramid Head going for ¥29,000....

When it comes to the second annual XBLA “Summer of Arcade” line-up, one game more than any other appears to be the odd man out for most people. Although you could probably argue otherwise, I would suggest that it isTrials HD. We were handed some new footage of the physics-based racing game, and believe it or not, I’m beginning to come around. The fact that it has an online enabled level creator had me looking already, but the more I see ofTrials HD, the more interested I become....

X-Men Origins: Wolverinewasn’t the only new trailer to appear on GameTrailers TV late last night (or was it early this morning?); an exclusive story trailer forRed Faction: Guerrillaalso made an appearance on the show.Besides the basic theme of revolution, I didn’t really know anything aboutRF:G‘s story prior to seeing the video above. As a matter of fact, I was hesitant to believe there even was one, which wouldn’t have necessarily been a bad thing for such an action-oriented game....

One of my biggest gripes withWii Fit, which I expressed inDtoids review of the game, was that it had absolutely no direction. There were simply a bunch of exercises thrown at you and then nothing else. You couldn’t even make your own workout plan in the game. It was especially a let down because the “game” could have actually offered a decent sort of workout if it had been more structured....
