Murder people from the comfort of your home with the Wii!

Tipster extraordinaire BlindsideDork tipped me off to this clip fromTokyo Gore Policethe other day. The movie has randomly-placed infomercials in it, and one of the ads is for a Wii game where you can remotely murder people! The execution game is a government-backed game meant for families to get revenge on prisoners that have done them harm in the past. Players can use the Wiimote as a sword and brutally slice and dice criminals all from the comfort of their living room....

Nerdy New Year Celebration: Magfest 7, January 1-4, 2009

MAGFest, the Music and Gaming Festival, is one of my favorite events of the year.Last yearwe had a blast there, and our owncommunitymemberscan attest to the good times that can be had there. For those not in the know, it’s a multi-day gaming tournament and console gaming orgy, topped off with the biggest and best (and longest) videogame music concert ever. Musical celebs: Game Music Bands: This might sound a little forward, but if you like game music at all, you’re a f*cking idiot for missing this....

New levels available for N+ today, free of charge!

I was totally addicted toN+when it first released on XBLA and even grabbed one of the add-on packs. The game was so well-designed that I couldn’t be upset when it trounced me on a level time and again because there was no doubt in my mind that every death was entirely my fault. It’s been a while since I gave it some serious play, but all of that is about to change....

New Resistance: Fall of Man maps on the way

Most of the time, when a developer ships a new game, fans usually stop playing the old one and move on. Not the case with Insomniac Games, who recently shippedRatchet and Clank Futurefor the PlayStation 3. But people are still playing their first-person shooter launch title,Resistance: Fall of Man. Why? Well, because it’s pretty damned good, that’s why. So two new multiplayer areas are a welcome addition, andThree Speechhas all of the details on the “Bracknell” and “Axbridge” maps....

New Sega arcade gives players the jump on UFO catchers

No, not Unidentified Flying Objects. We’re talking about “crane games” here. Anyone that’s played them knows how much of a bitch it is to actually nab something with the claws. My advice? Look for loops to hook into, and think about nudging rather than lifting. An advantage even better than my sage advice will come to visitors of a new Japanese Sega arcade. At the soon-to-openSega World Kokoe Amagasaki, UFO catcher players will actually get to handle sample prizes before playing....

New Unreal Tournament 2K7 gameplay footage

Epic Games has finally released some more gameplay footage for their upcoming game,Unreal Tournament 2007for the PC and PlayStation 3. Not too much happens in the video, except for near the end when the player jumps into a pseudo-Mech type vehicle. A few choice weapons are showcased as well, packing quite a bit of punch. Another vehicle appearing earlier in the clip also looks like it’s projecting a giant shield. My only question, will the PC and PS3 players be able to play together on the same servers?...

Online Lessons 101: Monster Slaying in Monster Hunter Tri

Look, when I think ofMonster Hunter, the last thing I think about is the high school education system. Apparently I must be in the minority, as Capcom seems to think that Monster Hunter and education go hand in hand, which is why, in a move to previewMonster Hunter Trifor the Wii, they transformed a local club into a high school biology lab. Weird. Considering Japan actually has classes onMonster Hunter, this isn’t so surprising....

Ladies and gentlemen, Podtoid 126 has occurred. Anthony was absent again, but the rest of the regular crew was present, and Brad Nicholson filled the void with his muscles. This week, we talked aboutAssassin’s Creed II, Modern Warfare 2,Left 4 Dead 2, blueberry pie, paid PSN accounts and Aaron Linde’s Poster Shop. We managed to work in some other stuff as well, which made for a somewhat long episode.

Podtoid 95: Bisontoid

Oh yes. It’s here. After two false starts and a lost bonus episode, Podtoid has finally recorded its official commentary to the 1994Street Fightermovie starring Raul Julia, Jean Claude Van Damme, and Raul Julia. I’d give highlights, but the entireStreet Fighterfilm is basically one big highlight. Our commentary is but a flickering candle to the blazing sun of genius thatistheStreet Fightermovie. icaruswins the question contest for this week — though considering much of the film includes Raul Julia walking around in a bright red cape acting like a comic book version of Stalin, I’d say weallwin....
