The “First Strike” add-on forCall of Duty: Black Opswon’t be exclusive to Xbox 360 much longer. The window is closing, and Activision has come out with a date for the PlayStation Network release: March 3. Four multiplayer maps and a new zombie level for $15 is what the pack entails, for those not aware. Either you’re in, or you are most certainly out. As for the PC version, look for Treyarch to release that “later in the quarter”; an actual date will be revealed soon....

If you’ve recently bought a PS3 Slim and want something shiny to play on it, then brace yourself for the arrival ofRatchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time. It now has an official release date of October 27 and it will probably be really good. As well as announcing the release date, Sony has also revealed a number of pre-order incentives that will be offered by participating retailers. They all take the form of downloadable content, offering new levels, skins, and free Bolts....

Chris Redfield looks like Vin Diesel with hair while Sheva has the facial expression of a woman who’s just pissed out of her arsehole. The Executioner is the only one that looks decent, but I’ve definitely seen better figures out there....

One of the advantages of remaining within casual driving distance of your parents when you inevitably leave the nest is that their home can act as something of a storage facility for things that you just haven’t had the need to keep in your own house. While it took my mother less than fifteen minutes after I moved out to convert my old bedroom into her home office, I still have a closet (and a bookshelf, and several dresser drawers) there full of my old junk....

According to the latest gossip, Nintend’s hot upcoming handheld, the 3DS, has been ripped open and had its juicy tech specs spilled onto the dusty ground. It’ll come as no shock to you that these stats place the 3DS far above the DSi in terms of power, and are more on par with Sony’s PSP. If the reports are true, then the 3DS sports two 266MHz ARM11 CPUs (compared to the DSi’s 133 MHz ARM9 processors) and 64MB of RAM (compared to the DSi’s 16MB)....

This could be fake, but some pictures coming out of the PS3 hacking community look like they’ve accessed a real PS3 service mode. In the above screenshot it looks like there’s an on-screen overlay that says “FactoryService Mode.” There’s still no word on what this does, but it may be possible to do PS3 firmware downgrades and such. I’m open to anything that busts open the silly regional protection. My dream?...

Fire Hose Games, the indie developer responsible forSlam Bolt Scrappers, is working on another game and this one will have a booth at PAX. The new title,Go Home Dinosaurs!,is a mash-up of tower defense and puzzle gaming that pits mammals against dinos in a battle for world domination. There isn’t much information aboutGo Home Dinosaurs!yet, but the idea behind it sounds pretty interesting and I wouldn’t mind trying it out. Since there will be a playable demo at PAX, swing by their booth (6408 in Indie Alley) and try the game....

Scary or not, I’m still looking forward to upcoming 3D filmSilent Hill: Revelation. There’s somenew stills from the setmaking the roundsfor us to look at. You’re going to have mixed feelings, I bet. I may also have them somewhere deep down. But I’m aglass is half fullguy, and I’m going to remain positive for this secondSilent Hillmovie. As far as SNK Playmore is concerned, 2D fighting never dies.
