Yeah, there’s nothing after the Vs. inHell’s Kitchen Vs. in our headline. That’s how it’s supposed to look. That comes out in Nintendo’s batch this week along with 6 other titles. Other DSi offerings include puzzle titlesTrajectileandAnimal Puzzle Adventure, both costing 500 DSi Points. For WiiWare, there’s another puzzler:Heron: Steam Machine....

No April Fool: Silent Hill Wii, titled Shattered Memories

Well, I hope it’s not an April Fool’s Joke. There’s aNintendo Powercover to win you doubters over. ThisSilent Hillgame is not a remake or a port, but a re-imaging of the first game.Uh-oh. Maybe it’s not so bad, though.GoNintendohas some quotes from the magazine, and from what we see here, things sound pretty interesting. The characters play different roles, things don’t necessarily happen in the same order, and the story is taken in lots of new directions....

No Hitler in new Wolfenstein? That makes us Sadolf

With a brand newWolfensteinon the cards, one could be forgiven for salivating at the thought of tackling the somewhat controversial Third Reich frontman, Adolf Hitler. Unfortunately, the Ron Mael lookalikewill not beputting in an appearance for id’s Nazi-themed shooter … at least this time. “No, he’s not in our game,” confirmed smirking lead artist Kevin Cloud. “We’ve got to save something for futureWolfensteins. We can’t do him in yet!” The new title (to be launched “when it’s done”) follows on from 2001’s awfulReturn To Castle Wolfenstein, with hero BJ Blazkowicz fighting occult-dabbling Nazis using a dimension rift known as The Veil....

Obsidian wants to make Chrono Trigger

Alpha Protocolapparently performed too poorly to receive a sequel, but developer Obsidian won’t be put down. In fact, it wants to get involved withChrono Trigger, arguably one of the most beloved RPG names of all time. Apparently, the studio was in talks with Square Enix regarding a game, so this is a thing that might happen. “We were talking to Square for quite awhile,” says CEO Feargus Urquhart. “You make RPGs, we make RPGs, it would be great to see what we could do together....

P-Force is no F-Force, but still decent

The other day, I posted about the most important, most amazing, most mind-blowing trailer for a game that has ever been made in the history of videogames. This post is not aboutthat trailer. This post is about a trailer for the same game as thetrailer which will change the way you look at videogame trailers forever. It is not as good. The new trailer, I mean, though the same could probably be said for this post too....

The first installment got apretty reasonable reception, I hear. Pitchford thinks Borderlands is less dull than Fallout 3

V.A.T.S, maul and repeat. Bethesda did a lot of things right withFallout 3, but one noticeable dent in the game’s power armor was the shooting mechanic. We’d say it hovered somewhere between serviceable and poor, but Gearbox’s Randy Pitchford would place it in the more boring thanBorderlandscategory. In a conversation withOfficial Xbox Magazine, Pitchford said Borderlands was “less boring” thanFallout 3when talking aboutBorderlands’action focus and, obviously, offered up a bit of criticism forFallout 3in the process....

Play Fallout: New Vegas as a pacifist or bringer of death

When I spoke with him at aFallout: New Vegasdemo last month, senior producer Jason Bergman told me that the game is much more open-ended thanFallout 3was. WhileNew Vegashas no distinct “good” and “evil,” you certainly have the option of playing it in those ways. In fact, you may go through the entire game without killinganyone, although Bergman cautioned that it’s “exceptionallydifficult.” (That sounds like a challenge for those who are willing to tackleHardcore Mode....

Podtoid 114: Guybrush

This week’s episode is entitled “Guybrush” not necessarily because we spend much (or, indeed, any) time discussing theMonkey Islandfranchise, but because the last ten minutes of the episode consist of an audio interview with Dominic Armato, the voice of Guybrush Threepwood. I interviewed him at PAX, where I also got him tomake fun of Destructoid. This week’s best reader question — or at least, the only one we read — came fromthomasa, who should send his shipping details to[email protected]....
