Games, anime and manga conventionJump Festais set to kick off next week in Tokyo, Japan. Square Enix will be there. The publisher has just released a floor map showing where their booths will be located on the show floor, and among those booths is a mysterious and unmarked one. They do the “???” thing. That says ‘new game’ to me. Andria Sang links us to the above map and guesses that it won’t be a “Nomura joint,” as those are usually grouped together....

Now here’s a pleasant surprise for old-school metalheads. Activision has dropped a three-pack Motörhead track pack for theGuitar Hero IIItoday. Xbox 360 shredders can grab the pack for 500 Microsoft Points right now, and the tracks will be available later today with the PlayStation Network Update for $5.99. The pack contains three songs: “(We Are) The Road Crew” from their 1980 album,Aces of Spades; “Stay Clean” from 1979’sOverkill; and “Motörhead” from their 1978 self-titled....

Trusty ol’ Nintendo Power confirms thatTales of the Abyss 3Dwill come to North America in their May 2011 issue. When it was announced in Japan awhile back, they gave no word of a Western release, but we knew that they wouldn’t do us wrong with this remake of the classic RPG. Japan will get theirTales of the Abyss 3Din late June. We’ll get a better look at it then. I think it’ll make a fine 3DS game....

So Gearbox Software’sBorderlandsis finally out, and from what I hear, it’s kind of a big deal. Last I checked (that was this morning, by the way), it was the number-one-selling game on Steam, beating out Valve’s ownLeft 4 Dead 2and BioWare’sDragon’s Age. Also,we think it’s pretty good. What we have here is the first ten minutes from the Xbox 360 versionof Borderlands, from the 2K Games logo all the up through… well, you can watch....

Team ICO fans have had so much to rejoice in the last 24 hours, it’s hard not to still feel giddy. After all, theHD re-release ofShadow of the ColossusandIcowas just about the best news we could imagine. Let’s not forget we still haveThe Last Guardianto contend with, which thankfully is making a stronger showing this year at Tokyo Game Show than it did last year. Famitsuhas updated with some new screens from the game, which show a bit more of the boy interacting with Torico, the giant creature that is sure to die at the end of the game and leave all of us trembling and crying on our controllers....

I love Nintendo’s AR cards and the games that use them, but there’s nothing pretty about any of the ones that come with the 3DS.
