Retro City Rampage merch galore, free and otherwise

I just got a new preview build ofRetro City Rampagea few days ago, and it’s so packed with new stuff, I can hardly believe it. Some of you may have written the game off as a “80’s kid” only affair, but you’d be wrong. The 80’s stuff is definitely in there, but the game also features appearances from modern day videogame characters, 1960’s television icons, 90’s cult movie heroes, funny looking videogame bloggers, and so much more....

Screw your journalism: Why games blogging is nothing to be ashamed of

When I first started my career as a writer, I had one goal — to be a videogaming journalist. I wanted to review games, specifically, for some major Web site like IGN or GameSpot. I wanted to write for magazines likeEdgeorGames(tm). Never in a million years did I think that, rather than being the straitlaced ace reporter of my mind’s projection, I would be writing satirical articles for an indie Web site that sports a big green robot for a mascot....

Section 8 dev diary: ‘burn in’ and jetpacks are important

InSection 8’ssci-fi universe thing, dropping from an aircraft into the field of battle is an important maneuver. If you’ve read or watched anything about the upcoming FPS previously, chances are you probably knew that. “Burn in” is the game’s gimmick. But for all of you familiar, here are some things you might not know courtesy of the new developer diary for the game: weapon and armor loadouts can be switched on the fly or before missions, every soldier comes equipped with a jetpack, space marines eat rocks and hard plastic things instead of “wussy” food like bananas or grapes, and the “Burn in” mechanic was created as a way to avoid spawn camping....

See the difference Wii component cables make

If you are tired of seeing GameCube graphics on your Wii, it’s time to pick up those component cables. Anyway, GameSpot has a nice littlecomparisonup of the drastic difference between the hook ups. If this isn’t the biggest selling point into a component investment, I don’t know what is....

Sega creating another theme park in Dubai Mall

According tointergameonline, Sega Japan and Emaar Malls Group reached an agreement to put a Sega theme park inside the Dubai Mall. Dubbed “Sega Republic,” the theme park will be a two-level 76,000 square feet monstrosity of goodness. It is being modeled after Sega’s “Joypolis,” currently in operation in Tokyo. Sony could keep Home in open beta for awhile

Currently, Sony’sHomeis in open beta.
