While the PSP gets multiple full fledgedFinal Fantasygames every year, the 3DS gets stuck with a rhythm-action crossover spinoff....

Usually, nobody rivals SEGA when it comes to releasing a billion trailers for a game, but Electronic Arts has had an impressive run withCrysis 2. Here’s the latest trailer, this time focusing on Gatekeepers. They keep gates! Crysis 2is out next week and I’m really eager to give it a try. Our review will hopefully go up in time for launch. Just waiting for some issues with the review copy to be ironed out....

Legendaryproducer John Garcia-Sheldon is back this week, this time crawling out of a hole in a dingy bathroom to talk about some of the game’s larger creatures. TopWare Interactive has announced that it’ll be bringingTwo Worlds II: Castle Defenseto PC and Mac next month. This tower defense-style game will take place between the narrative ofTwo Worldsand its sequel, detailing the dissension between Gandohar and the Orcs of Analoor. It’s your basic “take on waves” of enemies gameplay, and will include both an arena mode and a high score leaderboard. It’s out May 17 for PC and Mac; TopWare also says an iPad and iPhone version is in development....

A handful of WiiWare games were just pulled from the U.S. and European Wii Shop channels. As far as I know, the full list of removed games includesThe Magic Obelisk(in the U.S.) andLONPOS,Shootanto: Evolutionary Mayhem,Diner Dash,Racers’ Islands – Crazy Racers,Gods vs HumansandRacers’ Islands – Crazy Arenas(in Europe).The Magic Obeliskis a great little action puzzle game, so I’m sad to see that one gone, andShootanto: Evolutionary Mayhemis basically theBirdemicof videogames, so it definitely deserves your attention (even though it totally doesn’t)....

There are many issues to take withDuke Nukem Forever. Some of them — at least for the PC version — are being addressed in a future update by Gearbox Software. A recentforum postby community manager Chris Faylor (viaReddit) tells us what to expect: the number of weapons you may carry is being bumped from two up to four, Valve Anti-Cheat System support is coming, as is push-to-talk voice chat, the ability to adjust your field of view, “plus other fixes and improvements that are still being tested....

If they’re, you know, up to snuff. Knowing full well how talented the massive group of people who adoreTeam Fortress 2is, cool-looking items and avatars should be the least of our worries. Valve recently opened upa new pagecalled “Contribute!” that asks for fan-made creations. For the time being, it’s more or less just a place for you to upload your stuff. Eventually, the site will become a sort of hub where you can look at everyone’s approved submissions....

D-Pad Studios, the studio behind the promising but development-troubledOwl Boy, has announced a brand new game,Vikings On Trampolines. It’s one of those names with little ambiguity. Indeed, you’re going to get exactly what is promised — vikings on trampolines. The trailer shows that it’s a competitive title in which players must try to stop each other landing on the trampolines. Missing the bouncy target causes a viking to go splat. It looks like a lot of fun, with plenty of cartoon violence and opportunities for players to troll each other....
