Rememberback in Februarywhen EA referred to Activision as “a husband abandoning his family and then suing after his wife meets a better looking guy”? That was pretty funny. What’s not so funny, however, is that Activision sued Double Fine yesterday for allegedly “not deliveringBrutal Legendon time,” among other things. As reported byAP Entertainment Writer Anthony McCartney, “the lawsuit claims Activision paid Double Fine about $15 million to develop ‘Brutal Legend,’ but the studio missed a key deadline last year,” and “said it would need another nine months and $7 million to complete the game....

I imagine that the Polyphony Digital offices are a place where things never get done. The team comes into work at 1 p.m. or whenever they feel like it. The bathroom is filthy and hasn’t been cleaned in years. Their 2009 office Christmas party will happen sometime in March 2010. The computers aren’t even on in the office. The muscular and sexy Ben Kuchera at Ars Technica has been playingBulletstormon PC, and he’s not totally impressed. If you’re planning on playing People Can Fly’scritically well-received shooteron your computer, be aware that you’ll need to fiddle with it in order to make it decent. Kuchera first noted that the game’s configuration files contain “large blocks of gibberish”, meaning you’ll need to find some tools to bypass the weak encryption and make any edits to the way the game runs....

Burnout Crashwas originally planned to release in the tail-end of this year, but has suddenly shot way ahead of its proposed launch window in order to come out next month. EA’s motion-controlled, top-down, jumping-to-explode game will be yours to enjoy in August.

Capcom has announced its line-up for GamesCom, which takes place in Cologne next week.
