Counter-Strike: Global Offensive has some new screens

Here are some new screenshots to coincide with the news thatCounter-Strike: Global Offensiveis gettingnew Arsenal modes. There are guns, people wearing masks, and buildings in these screens, so you know that they are genuine. I love that we’ve gotten this influx of shooters that are boiling the genre back down to its roots. Between this,Serious Sam 3andHard Reset, FPS fans who aren’t necessarily into cover-based military shooters have a lot to look forward to....

Cute videogame crochet has me hooked? Looped?

Crocheting looks tedious when others do it, and it never seems like they get anywhere. I guess some make that long-ass, misshapen blanket that has too many holes in it to keep you warm, but those don’t count. These sweet crocheted game characters do count, though. Nikki, who is known on YouTube as GoldenJellyBean, has created something worthy of all that stitching or spinning or whatever crocheters do. She has made her own…sackboys, for a lack of a better term....

Cutest Wii gameplay video eva!

If this little minx and that music come along with the game, then I will turn my hatred ofElebitsto full-blown man-on-Elebit love. Seriously. Is this not the cutest f’ing thing you’ve ever seen in your entire f’ing life?!?!By the way, out of every time I’ve seen this game, it’s never looked as good as it does in the video. Perhaps Konami has been pulling the Elebitwool over my Elebiteyes.

Dance Central DLC will cost more than Rock Band DLC

Dance Central, otherwise known as “the one currently exclusive Kinect game that people are using to try and justify the whole horrible idea”, will have downloadable content, obviously. Unfortunately for you lot, Harmonix has confessed thatDance Central‘s DLC will actually be more expensive thanRock Band‘s. There’s a good reason though, allegedly. “Because [Dance CentralDLC] comes with a brand new unique routine with the three difficulties,” explains project lead Kasson Crooker, “we have to: engage the choreographer, find the song, license the song, come up with a routine, get them into a [motion capture] suit, shoot all the choreography, integrate the animation, build the filter system, the flash cards, the [voiceover] for ‘Break it Down’ — it’s a pretty elaborate process that is not only a lot more expensive, but a lot more time consuming....

Dark Void DLC is coming … because you needed more of it

Dark Void, the jetpack-flavored action game that I kicked the sh*t out ofduring our review, is priming for some downloadable content. You know, just in case there wasn’t enough fantastic gameplay to go around in the full game! TheDark Void“Survivor Missions” pack has been likened to a Horde mode, in that it puts players up against “increasingly brutal” waves of enemies. The Watcher forces will attack from both the ground and the air, so players will need to use all of Nathan Drake’s skills to survive....

Destructoid’s games of the week for 05/20/07: things I’ve learned edition!

For those of you who don’t already know, I spent the majority of last week in a hospital bed. Something about internal bleeding and intestinal hemorrhaging … honestly, I wasn’t paying much attention. It did, however, give me a chance to reflect on my life, and in my state of near-delirious contemplation, I learned a few things. Today, I would like to share them with you: Everyone who wasn’t dying this week played video games....

Destructoid’s games of the week for 12/24/06: Christmas in Iceland edition!

With this holiday season upon us, we, the editors of Destructoid, think it’s important for people to remember that we are all one family here on Earth. Everyone, from Africa to Australia is our brother or sister and that we have a global sense of duty to love each other. With that in mind, I would like to explore how Christmas is traditionally celebrated in a little known country to the north known as Iceland....

Destructoid’s picks: January 2008

We’re pleased to be back this month with Destructoid’s picks for January 2008. Many of you might have noticed, we skipped on the picks for December 2007, so allow me to explain. Many of you had noticed, but nothing really was released in December of last year. So retroactively, let’s just go ahead and say thatUnreal Tournament IIIfor the PlayStation 3 was the game of the month. But more importantly, we picked our damned games of the year … what do you want from us!...

Deus Ex 3 debut trailer: this is what prostitution tastes like

The originalDeus Exis right at the top of my list of all-time favorite games. It occupies a spot sandwiched betweenFallout 2and theAge of Empiresseries, so saying I’m a fan of Warren Spector’s baby is an understatement on par with saying you’re currently thinking about opening a new tab to look at pornography.Afterhearing about itthis morning fromGamasutra’s Leigh Alexander— the Brian Williams to J. Chobot’s Oprah — my brain was filled with horrific visions of what an abortionDeus Ex 3would inevitably be....

Dokapon Journey announced for Nintendo DS

We recently reviewedthe Wii and PS2 gameDokapon Kingdom, an addicting cross between a board game and a RPG. We loved it, and the few that I’ve talked to that have picked it up have not stopped playing it. It’s a great party game that could easily replace Mario Party and the like at your gatherings. Now the series comes to the DS asDokapon Journey. You can play the computer or up to three other friends via sing or multi-card wireless play....

Duke Nukem Forever devs talk history, changes

Maximum PC has posted agiant interviewwith George Broussard, the designer of the actually releasedDuke Nukemgames, and Gearbox’s Brian Martel and Randy Pitchford. All of them had something interesting to say. Broussard mentions how engine changes and customizing them was perhaps the biggest thing to hurt 3D Realms in trying to finish theDuke Nukem Foreverproject. The lawsuit battle with Take-Two, Broussard’s relationship with Randy Pitchford and the way Gearbox was able to leverage their relationship with Take-Two all played a part in the game finally getting a release....

E3 09: Bayonetta screens make me happy in my pants

If you’ve been reading our E3 coverage this week, you’ll have probably picked up ona recurring pointwith me —Bayonettais the sexiest videogame experience I have ever had, and I can’t stop fawning over it like a lovesick puppy. Everything about this game, from the insane Torture Attacks to the way in which Bayonetta swings her hips when she walks, is fantastic. These screens unfortunately don’t do the game justice. You really need to see the thing in hi-def motion to really appreciate how it looks....
