E3 is a hectic place and it’s often hard to find the time to write posts inbetween all of the meetings, booth tours and just plain walking. But when you get asked if you’d like the opportunity to seeBioShock 2in the midst of a full schedule, well, you make time to do that. And that’s what I’ve done. 2K’s demonstration was strictly hands-off but they gave us some juicy info and allowed us to see a live demo of the title’s multiplayer component....

I mean, the reactions I’ve heard from fans of the 2DMKgames have been absolutely ecstatic — they’re worse than I am at containing emotions! BioWare has revealed how Kinect will play a part inMass Effect 3.Players with Kinect will have the opportunity to interact with the game using their fleshy vocal cords. Players will be able to select dialog choices and give their party members commands in combat. Demonstrated in the sterile Microsoft Press Conference environment today, the commands seemed to work well as a BioWare representative ordered his fighting compatriots to advance and fall back....
Real smooth, EA. Some copies ofRed Alert 3appear to be missing characters in their installation codes, meaning of course that you can’t install the game you just bought. While this could be potentially frustrating, Electronic Arts has come up with an absolutelyingenious workaround—guessthe missing character. “There is currently a work around that may allow you to bypass this issue. Since you have the first 19 characters of the code already, you can basically try “guessing” the last character....
As you know, we’re just the tiniest bit in love with Mistwalker’s epic RPGLost Odyssey, and if you’re anything like us, you might be interestedin picking upthe Masters Secret Script (originally a pre-order bonus) that is being made available as DLC, along with Weapon Guard II. If you want them right now, however, you’re going to have to put a Japanese Xbox Live account to use. Also available for 200 points is some DLC which includes the Killer Machine Ring, a super powerful new equippable ring that is supposed to make the game quite a cakewalk....
The long and tumultuous saga ofEdge of Twilightcontinues. Yesterday, developerFuzzyeyes told Destructoidthatrumorsconcerning the game’s cancellation were untrue, but it did confirm that there were severe issues at play. Today, the studio has issued a formal statement on its current status, and it’s not pretty. Fuzzyeyes “let go of the majority of staff” on September 30 after being “confronted with a number of challenges, including economic downturn and some legal complications.” The layoffs were the result of a bid to reduce operating costs while the company weathered the current financial storm....
We’ve known aboutthe closure of Ensemble Studiosfor a few months now, but rather than slink off into the darkness leaving fans mumbling about how great it all once was, the company has decided to take a different direction. According to Ensemble’s Bruce Shelley, two new studios will come out of what was once only one. I recently went on a tear about how I’d like for more women in video games tothrow off the shackles of gender conceptsin favor of just being as interesting and genuine as possible. The female protagonists from WayForward are a perfect example of what I mean. Their female leads sometimes cute, sometimes beautiful, but always distinctly feminine, but without being defined solely by their gender. Their next game,Mighty Milky Wayis no different....

The trouble with E3 is that so much cool stuff happened and things were inevitably missed. In fact, I didn’t even knowFist of the North Star: Ken’s Ragehad a trailer out that week, so busy was I with playing the game itself and loving how silly it was. So, forgive me for posting a video so late, but it really is an awesome trailer and I wanted to ensure everybody saw it....
