Whoa, check out this chart on console sales

I love charts. We get blasted with videogame sales data repeatedly, but you never get the big picture, especially with console sales data. You always get some kind of spin or complementary comparison that does little to show you overall progress. This chart fromConceivablyTechdoes a great job of showing how much each of the top three consoles sold from November 2006 through today, month-to-month. Look at how those holiday spikes keep getting bigger every year....

Write a ninja haiku, win the Ninja Blade soundtrack!

No matter how you spin it, ninjas are eternally cool. I don’t know how they manage it, but while things around them become popular, burn out and fade, they still somehow maintain their spot in popular culture. I’d question it, but I have no reason to — I like ninjas too. Ninja Blade, the Xbox 360 exclusive that came out this April, may have pleased many a fan of ninjas, and now I have a little something laying around the office that I think may please some of you....

Yakuza 4’s demo trailer gets you pumped up

If you haven’t heard, there’s a PlayStation Network demo for PS3 gameYakuza 4. It’s a great game, and I can tell you now that the demo is only a small taste of what’s in store for the March 15th release. I couldn’t wait. I got the Japanese version. Still, I’m looking forward to playing it in my first language, especially when I consider that Sega has left it intact this time around....

Yep, Warhammer Online for the Macintosh works

Apple enjoys margins more than market share. It’s a simple truth that impacts the amount of videogames available for the Macintosh platform. It also keeps our optimism in check. Most big ports — the few there are — ship hobbled. This isn’t the case for Mythic Entertainment’sWarhammer Online. The MMO runs like a dream. WARfor the Mac launched at the end of the July. Still in beta, the client isn’t without its faults....
