Rock Band 3hits shelves on October 26. That’s over a month away, so that means (unless you work for Harmonix, MTV Games, or Electronic Arts) you’re not playing it. Well, I’m not playing it either. You know who is? The damned cast of The CW’sGossip Girl. Yes, on this week’s episode of the popular show, the game is prominently featured, keyboard and all. “You wanna playRock Band 3with us? There’s a keyboard, we can make it a five piece,” says the pretty girl paid handsomely to smile and pimp the game while wearing lingerie....

Little King’s Storyis a delightful, stunningly pretty game, and if you read our review you know that we enjoyed it quite a bit. If you enjoyed it a smuch as we did, you’ve surely noticed that it also had a wonderful soundtrack. Today, XSEED announced that you can have six of the songs on the soundtrack absolutely just by strolling over to theLittle King’s Storywebsiteand downloading them. Yes, the game formerly known asHalo: Reconhas pulled a Prince/Cliffy B and is now known asHalo: ODST. For those not familiar with theHalouniverse, “ODST” stands for “Orbital Drop Shock Trooper,” one of which you will control inHalo:ReconODST. At GDC 2007, I met Niero for the first time, and it was literally less than a few hours before he was waving his DS Lite and showing me a strange little game I had never seen before. “Rhythm Tengoku“, he said. “I don’t ever leave the house without this game.” Curious, I imported a copy for myself and quickly found myself sucked into the vortex of addiction. Spicy hot news for anybody looking forward to Quantic Dream’s PS3 exclusiveHeavy Rain. The “not quite a videogame” videogame has been given a release date of February 23 in North America (and Wednesday 24th February for mainland Europe, and Friday 26th February in the UK and Ireland.) Heavy Rainis the brainchild of David Cage. Players take on multiple characters as they hunt for the Origami Killer, get into QTE fights and brush their teeth with a SIXAXIS....

Below the fold, you can grab your first look at two previously announced characters inMarvel Ultimate Alliance 2: Not Fusion. In one of the two teasers, you can watch Green Goblin whizzing around, dropping bombs, and doing something violent with metallic tentacles. In the other, you’ll see Venom doing his usual thing: killing dudes with his tongue. The events — and possibly relationships — inMarvel Ultimate Alliance 2are inspired by Marvel’s “Civil War” story arc....

Hey Ash, Whatcha Playin‘ is Destructoid’s surreal comedy series about videogames and gamer culture. It’s pretty good. At this year’s Penny Arcade Expo, Ash and I had a panel, and that was fun. During the panel, we got Rey Gutierrez to help us film an episode of Hey Ash, Whatcha Playin’ using the audience as extras. You can watch that episodehere. I’ll say it now, just because I’m not sure if I said it anywhere else; the panel, and PAX 2009 in general, were both incredibly fun and the people we met were really cool....

And by “urban jungle”, we mean itliterally.Famitsuscans reveal the SCEJ-developed PlayStation 3 game to be called“Tokyo Jungle“. The scans show screenshots of various wild animals stalking the streets of a post-disaster Tokyo, doing what wild animals are wont to do. Perhaps Sony felt thatAfrikawasn’t dangerous enough. The game promises “hunting action”, and two modes of play: “Story” and “Survival”. PlayStation Network support is also a thing that will happen. And the screenshots show a distinct lack of human beings....

While it’s not a popular opinion, I’m not really a big fan ofSuper Smash Bros., and I realize that makes me some kind of weirdo in gaming communities. I was a fan of theTeenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, however, dating back to the early 90s when I spent my days scrounging for money and redeeming empty soda cans for five cents a pop… just so I could buy the first edition of Eastman and Laird’sTMNTdebut black and white comic....
