Let the hypefest begin! What do we know about the Microsoft Press Conference for E3 2009? It’s happening on Monday at 10:30 AM PDT, there’s certianly going to be talk about Xbox 360 sales and LIVE membership numbers, and Lionhead is going to give a presentation on something or other. At its core,Red Faction: Guerillais a physics game wrapped around shooter mechanics. Crippling the environment and creating massive explosions are essential parts of theRed Factionexperience, and obviously Volition would love to have everything running smoothly. This wasn’t the case for the PlayStation 3 version of the game. Apparently, the PS3 version was lagging so far behind the Xbox 360 version that Volition had to call Sony in for some help....

The playful speculation that the North American version ofTrinewould hit Xbox LIVE Arcade before it made it’s way to PlayStation Network is over. This afternoon, developer Frozenbyte and publisher Nobilis Publisher announced that the bite-sized platformer hits PSN on October 22nd. Trinewas supposed to be released in July this year. Last month, Frozenbyte CEO Lauri Hyvarian pegged the reason for the gargantuan delay on physics, bugs, and “unlimited gameplay possibilities.” It apparently wasn’t an easy game to test....

The year-end report by ASCII lays it all out, and it’s exactly as we expected. The PSP and DS sold like hotcakes. Or rice cakes. The PSP was the only system to show sales growth over 2009 numbers, pushing out some 60,000 units over last year, to 2,729,718 units sold in 2010. That just barely edges out the DS with its 2,719,544 units. I’vew always wondered how a PSP hater would fare in Tokyo for a week....

TopWare showed a rough version of a live-action teaser trailer forRaven’s Cryat gamescom this week and I got the chance to learn a bit more about the game. Rather than being yet another pirate-themed role-playing game or strategy game with a pirate ship,Raven’s Cryis a third-person action revenge-’em-up. You play as Christopher Raven who, as a boy, lost his family and his left hand to a pirate attack on the way to the New World....

Rockstar has announced today that it will be supportingRed Dead Redemptionwith some serious business downloadable content in the coming months. Starting this August, the “Legends and Killers” pack will hit Xbox LIVE and PlayStation Network. The pack features nine new multiplayer maps, eight new multiplayer characters, and a new projectile weapon called “The Tomahawk.” The massive DLC rush ends this fall, with the $9.99/800 MS Point “Undead Nightmare” pack, a single-player adventure where “ghost towns and cemeteries come alive in a West gone horribly wrong”; the pack will also feature eight new multiplayer zombie characters....

There was definitely not enough Wu-Tang Clan inDef Jam Rapstar, but that changes soon. A full pack of Wu-Tang Clan tracks has been announced for the title, and includes “Protect Ya Neck,” Raekwon’s “Ice Cream,” Ghostface’s “Cherchez LaGhost” and Method Man and Redman’s “How High.” You can get the entire pack for 560 MS Points, or pick up each track on the lonesome for 160 MS Points. Also added to the title will be two new Freestyle beats, DJ Premiere’s “Dots” and 9th Wonders’ “IWW”; each of those will cost you 160 MS Points/$1....

I don’t know if you follow UK show The Gadget Show, but show personality Jason Bradbury is someone who could know some inside information. If you believe that, then this rumor will have some weight.
