Say it isn’t so! Nex put upVirtua Fighter 5videothat made me feel funny in the pantal regions, but with this new news I’m afraid that blue pills might be in order. The folks over atGaming-Agehave received a copy of the retail boxed version ofVirtua Fighter 5for the PS3 and have uncovered something that hopefully is just a typo. The North American box listed 720p as the only supported HD video format available, while this week’s Japanese release supports 480p, 720p, 1080i and 1080p....

The yellow, angle-headed dude with the glove may look funny, but he’s doing something really cool with virtual reality tech, and it’s powered by Microsoft’s Kinect sensor. Designer Maxence Paranche calls this his HyperReality system. It uses a Microsoft Kinect to scan the physical environment and display it in this funky helmet. The glove? That lets you rotate the visual angle any way you like, making for something that would feel like being able to freely control the angle of the camera in a video game, but in your real world....

Microsoft’s recent update to the Xbox 360 dashboard brought a lot of changes to the look and feel of navigating the console. One of the more troubling adjustments came with moving the Xbox Live Indie Games section out of its former place in the Live Marketplace and into the new “Specialty Shops” section. Indie developers expressed concern over the change, saying that the games were now harder to find. Following someinitial protesta week ago that the new system would actually be a benefit to indie developers, giving them a “full marketplace experience,” it seems that Microsoft has decided to revert back to the old system....

I like zombie slayers and Ilovebikinis, which is why I am frustrated that I never got to playOnechanbara. I think the fact that I’ve neverseena copy in my life is a worthwhile excuse, since it is yet to ever grace these British Isles as far as I know. That said, I want to play it. We know that theKinect-compatible versionofMinecraftfor Xbox 360 will be an Xbox Live Arcade title, which should be a good indicator for how much it’ll eventually cost when it hits this holiday. It’s now been divulged that4J Studiosis the company behind the game. That’s the same team who did an amazing job porting theBanjo-Kazooiegames to XBLA, among other things. I feel better about this project already, knowing they’re doing it. I’m incredibly curious to see how much of the ever-expanding PC version makes it into this Xbox 360 release....

Kotaku’s man in Japan(a good guy, that Bashcraft) reports that at least one store has sold out ofHalo 3. Sure, it’s only one store, but werewe really expecting that? Is a fluke? A prank on an unsuspecting blogger? Who knows. One company (we will not say who) joked with us that Japan would only need one case ofHalo 3discs, and that there should be some leftovers, but it looks like this person was wrong....

Totally new and totally metal is the new Guitar Hero Warriors of Rock character artwork and this nifty new trailer! Despite what some people say about the series, I think it looks interesting. Of course, I love heavy metal and think this sort of stuff is hilarious, but that’s just me. The art assets are all one shots containing before and after shots of the transformations focused on in the new game....

I actually cannot believe this, but in one of the most retarded bullshit moves ever pulled, EA hasregion locked online playwith its latest game,Army of Two. What this means is that those who own a PAL copy of the disc cannot actually play the game with those who own the American version. Upon searching through the PAL version’s manual, this particular little tidbit of information was discovered, neatly tucked away and not actually promoted on the cover like it should have been — because, y’know, CUTTING THE BALLS OFF OF YOUR ONLINE MODE IS PRETTY F’ING IMPORTANT:...
