Earlier today, Avalanche Studios announced its upcoming digital distribution titleRenegade Ops. Even with very little to go on, the game already sounds rather intriguing. Eurogamer followed up with the team to see what lies ahead. “We will continue to do hardcore triple-A games and downloadable games,” saysRenegade Opssenior producer Andreas Thorsén. “I can’t see that Avalanche wouldn’t want to continue on theJust Causeseries. We love that franchise.” Studio founder Christofer Sundberg says he “can’t really comment on the future ofJust Cause, but as we created the IP there is an attachment to the studio even though we don’t own the IP....

There have even been rumors that at TGS this year, Sega and Platinum games will reveal bothBayonetta 2, and an all CGI movie starring the titular gun toting super witch. One of the coolest aspects of the originalBioShockwas the selection of neat water effects — pretty much an essential component to any game set in an undersea city.BioShock 2looks to up the H20 ante, and this latest gameplay trailer reveals just how wet you can expect to get. It seems that the majority ofBioShock 2will be spent getting sprayed in the face like a zoophile at Seaworld. In any case, the game is looking pretty hot from where I’m standing, and I can’t wait to see the full game in action....

A little company called Blizzard Entertainment will be having another of its annual fan conventions this coming October 21st and 22nd in Anaheim, California. I hear they are popular events for which one would want to purchase their tickets early asthey tend to sell out quickly. To that end, Blizzard has announced that tickets will be going on sale next month on two separate days. The first round of tickets will be made available on Saturday, May 21st at 10 am Pacific....

Back in May,we alertedyou to a Japanese Flash-based demo of Capcom’sGhost Trick. Great if you spoke Japanese, not so much otherwise. Great news… now it’s in English! Nintendo’s official site in the UKhas posted an updated Flash demo of the game, which you can play right now on a virtual Pikachu-colored Nintendo DS. Having played the game on an actual DS, I can say that this is a pretty good approximation of what to expect....

Recently, Destructoid had a chance to sit down with Microsoft to take a look atBlue Dragon; thehighly reviewed RPGfrom Hironobu Sakaguchi of Mistwalker studios, andFinal Fantasyfame.Blue Dragon, which has already beenreleased in Japan, will be arriving to the North American Xbox 360 in August of this year. Prepare yourself, because the game features a collaboration of talent that would make any RPG fanatic squeal like a little girl. Not only isBlue Dragondesigned by the father ofFinal Fantasy, the games characters have been developed by Akira Toriyama (Dragon Ball), while the music is provided by Nobuo Uematsu — the composer from just about everyFinalFantasy, ever....

This new update also comes with a lot of fresh content, including new zones and powers. If you’re a Premium or Free member you’ll have to shell out ten dollars for locked power sets and unfortunately they’re using a “points” system not unlike Microsoft Points so depending on what you plan on buying you may end up with extra points. New players should definitely check out thisnew user guidedesigned just for you....
